| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 8, 2009 Cask - West Gate Inn (JDW), Canterbury. Dark, dark brown with a fine, loose and frothy beige head. No lacing, but quite thick and greasy on the glass. Milk chocolate and roasted malt aromas. Milk chocolate and roasted malt again, flavour-wise, with some liquorice, dried fruit and a dry, toastiness. Low carbonation, relatively short but dry finish with a mildly oily mouthfeel and quite a thin body for a stout. Seemed more like a porter to me.
