Bottle in the hotel room tasting. Its super hoppy, like its spicey beliun ale, but its got loads of citrus/grassy bittering hops in it, i loved the stuff and want more!!!!!!!

Pale golden pour, huge white head. Funky belgian yeast aroma with some banana, candy sugar, and light fruits. Flavor is really heavy on yeast and belgian malts, some banana and candy sugar, hops are there with citrus and floral but no more than any other belgian beer and it really leaves an astrigent irony taste. Not bad but not great.

Clear and gold in appearance with a decent white foamy head. Aroma of bananas and heavy florals. Flavor immensely boring. No bitterness, no alcohol bite. Far too carbonated for my liking. Not exactly sure what I was expecting, but it was an overall let-down.

draft, map room. well, miller lite appearance with a pearly white half inch head. smells at first of belgian pale ale, some duvel. definitely some big hops in that aroma too, piney and resiny. flavor is a mess. smell is also a little metallic/belgian tripellish. kinda a bimodal flavor profile. mostly belgian and sweet/metal on the front end, then a lull, then the obvious american contribution backing it and having a pretty lasting bitterness. alcohol falls in there somewhere.

Sunday May 27th 2007 Draft in a Trappist glass from Max’s in Baltimore Clear pale golden color medium head that dimished after a shortwhile but still left a strong lacing on the glass. Hoppy smell is first to hit the nose with a banana note as well. Smooth across the palette with a crisp refreshing taste. Very nice finish, a great twist on a Belgium classic! Will be trying to go by season and style when possible, with special cellared ales on special occasions. Look for the next 357 beers and for the entire diary soon on my BeerMagnets website!

12oz. Bottle: Aroma is lightly sweet. Smells of Belgian yeast, hay, banana, fruity hops, and a little bit of spices. Smells a lot like a Hefeweizen. Poured a deep-golden in color with a huge, foamy, off-white head that lasted throughout. Hazy. Sparkling. Some particles. Flavor is lightly sweet and medium bitter. Initially sweet, with notes of bubblegum, banana, and yeast, but quickly becomes bitter with piney, resiny hops. Medium to full body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, dry, bitter finish. Overall, a nice, hoppy interpretation of a Strong Ale.

Golden color. Small head. Aroma is floral hops. A medium bodied Belgian Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Lots of floral hops. Bright yeasts. Nice Belgian character, lots of fruity esters, bright yeast and floral and piney hops. Leave the over-hopping to the US please.

Tap at the Happy Gnome. Very pale yellow and entirely clear appearance. Notes of pears and green apples with some earthy hops underneath. Harsh taste. Plastic wrapped vegetal hops. Blast of aerosol alcohol. Undertone of a spicy Italian salami. Light palate which doesn’t bode well for these brutish flavors. A good candidate for aging.
