Bottle. Pours a murky brown with a small sticky foam froth on the surface. It seems to radiate outwards and cling to the glass. Nose is toasted malts, light caramel, bit of cocoa, coffee with cream and sugar and a hint of dried fruit. Taste is sweet but not overly sticky or syrupy. More dusty cocoa flavors, light coffee around the edges, light hops, dark chocolate, figs, mild raisin flavors, light alcohol, burnt toast and a light roasted maltiness. Body is medium with moderate carbonation feel, but leans towards creamy at times. Finishes with a bigger fruitiness, more chocolate and coffee, light cocoa, toasted bread, light hops, and a splash of spiciness. Alcohol comes through a bit more as well.

22oz bottle. Poured a deeper reddish/brown color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of roast, nuts, chocolate, some smoke, and some woodiness. Tastes of licorice, chocolate, dark fruits, roast, and caramel. Alcohol content hidden.

1/16/2008: He’Brew 9 Jewbelation 5766 pours out a dark pecan brown color and looks nearly opaque in the glass. It has a foamy reddish-tan head. The aroma has roasted malt and some chocolate. The flavor has a sweet caramelized maltiness followed by sweet molasses, dark chocolate, hints of citrus bitterness, and a roasty finish (like soft coffee). This beer has a medium-full body and a smooth texture. Overall it is an EXCELLENT beer!

10/27/2009: He’Brew 9 Jewbelation 5766... 9 Malts, 9 Hops... Aroma: Extremely rich and deeply caramelized malts, dark fruits, licorice, semi-sweet chocolate, raisins covered in dark chocolate, soft smoky notes. Appearance: Very dark brown like cola with mahogany highlights, opauqe; small but lasting dark beige to tan-colored. Flavor: Roasted malts, complex dark fruits; citrusy hop undertones; bittersweet chocolate; dry hazelnut and bitter espresso finish. Palate: Full-bodied; smooth and milky texture, mellow mouthfeel; thick. Overall: DELICIOUS! Still going strong...

Terrapin & Friends beer dinner at Trappeze. Poured redish brown. Aroma of malt, fruit, caramel, light hop. Taste is similar, with some chocolate and vanilla as well. Nice beer that has aged nicely. Mouth is smooth and finish is lightly warming. Overall, a very enjoyable beer.

I released this into my tulip. It is a deep, ruby, dark brown. The nose is slightly metallic on the first pour, The second is better, with slight chocolate and roasted malt. The taste is hoppy. Piney bitterness dominates, but the coffee, chocolate, toffee, and caramel malt are all there too. This beer is young for sure. The mouthfeel is creamy, with small (bubbles), lively carbonation. Bottle. Reviewing from old notes after I ealized that I failed to post earlier. Mostly clear dark copper supporting a medium light khaki head. Aroma tilts toward sweet malt and mild fruit. Caramel, milk chocolate and a hint of toffee predominate the flavors. Weak hop profile but just enough to maintain balance. Dry finish. Not a bad brew but wouldn’t be my first choice to pair with matzo ball soup.

Deep reddish, brown colour with a tan head. Roasted malty, fruity and vanilla sweet aroma with a vague bread note. Roasted malty and dried dark fruit sweet flavor with a vague wood note. Dry and toasted finish with alcohol sweet notes.
