Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Bottle 330ml. Great tripel. Aromas of apple, yeast, bread, and champagne. Taste has a sweet start, with bitterness taking over for a long finish. Palate is silky, with high carbonation, and medium-to-full body. Colour is dark yellow, with a frothy white head.

on tap. ottima tripel, buon aroma fruttato e floreale.al gusto si ritrova in frutto a polpa bianca non troppo maturo,il floreale bel sentore di malto.birra robusta ma abbastanza equilibrata e persistente.

A truly wonderful authentic Trappist tripel. There’s so much going on! Starts out a bit peppery and fairly sweet, with loads of fruit notes (same ones as in the aroma). Then the hop taste starts coming through, together with a slight boozy taste, leaving a pleasant bitterness lingering in the after-taste. There is a fair amount of spice notes, notable coriander, nutmeg, and allspice. The sweetness and the peppery hoppiness definitely work very well together. Drinks easily and has a medium body to it. A little boozy and peppery. An excellent beer from an excellent brewery!

Glorious things of thee are spoken, Chimay White. A hymn of praise should be written to extol thy greatness. Why have I been remiss so long to enjoy thy bounty?

Growler fill from CBX. Very tasty. Has enough hops to give you a little smack in the palate after a sip and stays a while.

one of my first forasy into the world of triples. my palate is starting to gravitate from ipa’s and dipa’s to belgian beers and this one didnt disappoint. color is an amazing yellow gold, hazy, and tastes just like it looks. im still figuring out the difference between belgian beers, but if this is what i can expect, im in for a treat.
