Orange amber and hazy with little off-white lacing head. Champagne-like fizziness. Heavy watery body. Astringent. OK sweetness and nutty, bitter after. Peppery and fruity. Some yeast, grass, earthy. Interesting taste and a slightly odd bitterness. Dry. Had it on tap, but maybe not a good one.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Mar 20, 2010 Aroma is fruity with a spicy tartness and a little yeast. A typical Belgian aroma. A deep yellow color with light, white head and slight lacing. Flavor is of banana, clove with a touch of bitterness throughout and some alcohol. It’s smooth with light carbonation and a slight bitter finish. Bonesey (24), Ontario, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Mar 19, 2010 Bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with a thick foamy head. Aroma of yeast, cloves, malt and mild hops. Tastes like candy upfront followed by a nice hoppy finish. Just really fresh tasting. Nicely carbonated, not overdone, incredibly smooth. I found this to be pretty simple, but it really has something special. Even at the high ABV it went down too well. tastybeer (211), Washington DC, USA

Pours a slightly hazy, light golden body with a sticky ivory head. Nose is fruity, yeasty, some spices (clove) and a hint of vanilla. Flavor is light cloves/spicy, yeasty, lightly sweet and some alcohol. Active carbonation and a medium/full mouthfeel. Slightly peppery in the very end. Archetypal. Great!! b33r (389), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 15, 2010 Big ole 1pt 9.4 Fl. Oz. Deep amber bearing fragments pushed all over by a copious yet light carbonation with a laced cotton head. The nose pleases with smooth banana, spices (clove), touch of vanilla, sweet caramel, undertones of zesty hops. My mouth is telling me a story of spices (coriander), slight alcohol poking through, banana, touch a caramel, slight bread, with added undertones of those zesty hops. An inviting triple but not over the top. mixos (111), Thessaloniki, Greece
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 13, 2010 One of my favorite tripels. Well balanced aroma and flavor between malts,hpo and yeast. Fruits as orange, grapes and some spicies. Long lasting finale, dry and fruity. beer4eternity (75), Tauranga, New Zealand
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 12, 2010 750ml bottle, Present from Mark, Trappist and tulip glass. Hazy orange with thick density of variable sized particles, large slightly off white foamy and creamy head mostly diminishing, good lacing. Amazing complex array of aromas which keep varying as it warms - malty (honey, caramel, white bread) fruity (very apricot, vinous, citrus - orange, banana), yeasty (cheese, earthy, and dough), spicy (ginger, pepper, clove). Moderately sweet initially with moderate to heavy bitter finish. Medium body, creamy texture, lively tingly carbonation, finish is long dry bitter orange alcoholic and very peppery and spicy.
In every aspect thoroughly enjoyable. Best enjoyed with friends that appreciate fine beer, almost too much of a good thing to drink on my own.
