Arbitrage411 (330) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 24, 2023UPDATED: SEP 24, 2023 7.2% version is coppery in appearance, amber in the highlights. Fragrant sweet spice on the nose, off white dollop head with hanging lacework. A halting almost punching tart to bitter first taste. Later, a quick to develop warming demonstrates a palatability. A requisite carbonated release. The brew does have some heavier aftertaste. Mouthfeel tolerable but with this medicinal flavor. Dry finish.
huineman (1340) - Madrid, SPAIN - APR 12, 2023UPDATED: APR 12, 2023 2020 vintage bottle, 'The Three Graces' label, at Lambic tap room, Alcalá de Henares. A very dark brown, almost black; thick as treacle, with a super-rocky tawny head. Aroma is sweet black fruits: plums, bilberries, mulberries, grapes... Mouth is slick, sweetish to sweet, full-bodied, medium to low-crisp. Medium bitter, long-lasting finish. Classic winter warmer.
Frank (4561) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 23, 2022UPDATED: DEC 23, 2022 This is a very malty and sticky sweet beer. It tastes pretty good but it's really pretty hard to drink. I do like the spices used but it's just hard to get through the thickness of it all.
blackmurder (320) - Whitaker, Oregon, USA - NOV 5, 2022UPDATED: NOV 5, 2022 Purchased at a Costco for $15 in a 1.5 liter bottle. Quite a nice beach sand tan head with heavy lacing. Beautiful brown pour. Taste is cinnamon, wheat, malt, molasses, raisins, mild bitterness on the finish. Kind of a wheat cracker backbone and earthy vibe going on, too. It's quite good. Gonna pour some more and see what's up. So far so good...so what? Worth the price, for sure. This is a finely crafted beer that fits the season well. Second pour is just as nice as the first. I picked up some cedar notes here. Finish is quite bitter, almost coffee like in a pleasant way.
olo81 (452) - Sosnowiec, POLAND - JUN 17, 2022UPDATED: JUN 17, 2022 Świetny owocowo palony zapach, chlebek, ciemna czekolada. Z wyglądu niemal czarne z ładną ciemno beżową pianą.
Hmm, w smaku bardzo specyficznie, ni to koźlak ni porter. Ciemne palone piwo, trochę jak by przyprawowe, owocowe. Ciała sporo ale do risa daleko. Fajnie że nie ma dużo cukru.
Trzeba przyznać że bardzo ciekawy wynalazek.
dragnet101 (4422) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - FEB 9, 2022UPDATED: FEB 9, 2022 Bottle from Connolly's Wine Merchants entitled '2021 Merry Christmas Happy New Year'. Pours quite thick black with moderate beige head. Aroma of malt, cinnamon, dark fruits, nutmeg. Taste of malts, molasses, Christmas spice, dark fruit, some roast in the finish with a slight coffee and herbal bitterness. Good beer although could have been even better. I just feel it might be missing something to bring it all together.
