COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For the sixth year we have faithfully produced the next edition in our impressive series of annual limited beers. Copious amounts of Pale, Chocolate, and Munich malts gives the mouthfeel to this brew. Additionally, twenty pounds of East African Cocoa combines with subtle raspberry flavors to accentuate the beer's creative backbone. Though not laden with hop bitterness, we chose the Perle hop's mild spice and sweetness to complement the chocolate in this ale. Unusual care and a year of aging, as well as hand corking and a never to be used again recipe give this beer a signature flavor which should only improve with time. It is extremely limited, extremely strong, and extremely original, because as we like to say around here "It's All About Extremes!" 11.7% Alcohol by Volume.

750mL Bottle poured at the brewery tasting room for The "Odd" Years Vertical Tasting. Warm, fruity strength to the nose. Raspberry and cocoa flavors are melding well! Very surprised to see this. These characters are balanced, not only with the beer character, but also with each other. Not too sweet. A nice dessert pour. The beer is still beneath and mingles well with the fruit and cocoa. Nice showing. Supports my theory that fruit with Vitamin C will help prevent a beer from oxidizing.

This poured a murky dark brown color with a tiny beige head. Aroma was lots of caramel and sweet malts with light roast and chocolate there too. Flavor was very sweet, light minty alcohol and oxidation with some dark fruits there too. OK.

Pouring at the grand tasting at RBSG in Philly. Pours a clear ruby color. Oxidized and nutty right away. Very sweet, oxidized with some light nutty acetone notes. Oxidization, and more oxidization. Ugh.

Amber pour with tan head and lace. Aroma of huge dried fruit, brown sugar, and abv. Sweet caramel malt and dried fruit. A hint thin and watery but nice. A bit of oxidation kept this from being a 4.5. very nice.

Part of an amazing Newport Storm vertical at RBSG Grand Tasting. Pours reddish amber. Nose and taste of apricots fermenting in alcohol, bread and toffee. Some caramel sweetness.

Thanks to Stan for sharing this bottle at our weekly get together. I was my first brew from the great state of Rode Island so I had to review it. I poured it into a snifter and I got a slight brown head but with the age of the bottle it was better than I expected. The color of the brew was dark brown to black. Aroma wise I got some chocolate and raspberries’ with a slight caramel. The flavor was the same as the nose. Considering the age on the bottle I got no off flavors or smell so I thought It was alright to post something on it. I don’t think any more age on this would change it much. The mouthfeel was a bit thin but take that with a grain of salt because of the age So drink them if you got them. Serving type: bottle
