Pours a cloudy light amber with a little bit of sediment floating around. Fat bubbly white head that won’t go away. Smells apple, yeast, great fruity stuff. Flavor is a little similar with a crisp mouthfeel and a dry finish. Alcohol isn’t in the flavor but you can feel warmth in the finish. Everything comes together really well in this one, it reminds me of the last orval i had. Even though it’s not a fresh bottle i have to say this is some really good shit. lagomswedish (213), Umeå, Sweden

Everything I wanted from this beer is in here - whiffs of Belgium yeast, allspice, sweet pears and peaches and green grassy hops. The stunning natural carbonation combines with a delicious citric acidity and cereal malts to make this an eminently drinkable beer. I love this style!

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Sep 4, 2008 Saison Dupont Vieille Provision is a cloudy, very sparkling golden ale with a lot of particles in it. It has a huge, white, foamy head that has great retention and lacing. As soon as the cork was popped, the room was filled with a funky, farty aroma. A closer sniff reveals leather, earth, hay, spices of some sort, fruit salad. There’s a lot going on in that aroma. It is incredibly smooth and medium bodied. It japans the roof of the mouth and leaves the tongue dry. It dries up in a poof and leaves me thirsty for more. The flavor is pretty mellow, but still complex. It never gets sweet. It’s almost umami. There is leather, apples, grass, cirus peel corander... a bit of phenol. It’s hard to pick it apart, as it’s so well blended. There is a nice grassy bitterness at the finish. The whole flavor is tight and unique. It’s very satisfying. entropy1049 (40), Oxford, Iowa, USA

Smells like pears, lemons, pine and grass. Nicely carbonated and dry as a bone. Peppery, and more pine at the start with a beautiful citrusy dry and somewhat bitter finish. Super nice saison! mmmbeer (787), Austin, Texas, USA

Hits the mouth with a thin body, ALOT of spices with citrus on the tongue, finish is extremely dry. It might not be refreshing on a hot Texas day, but I WOULD NOT turn one down if offered. Pours a beatiful straw gold, hazy with a lot of white head. Aroma: Skunk, but in a good way, Tums, powdered sugar, Bretty goodness, very dry and yeasty. Flavour: Really nice malty body to all the above mentioned aspects, very sweet but with some awesome bitter hoppy balance in the finish. Comes across astringent with that Bretty spritzy lemon lime up front characteristic that I love so much. Refreshing. Awesome stuff! Multy-layered yet simple and tasty at the same time. An awesome beer, thanks Matt for sharing! matt7215 (1022), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada
