Cask at the St. Albans Beer Festival 2017. Clear ruby. Aroma of tinned fruit and straw. The flavour is initially sweet and then becomes incredibly dry and bitter. Not altogether balanced and the alcohol is a bit too prominent.

Cask at The George, Croydon. Doesn’t look like this one has been around for a while! It pours clear rich mahogany brown with a thick white head. The aroma is rich, wood, leather, fruit cake, raisin, sultana, touch of bubblegum even, light spice and resin. The taste is smooth, wood, leather, brown bread, resin, marmalade, touch of spice, touch of citrus peel and toffee with a dry, wood finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Well rounded and drinks rather easy. I am a fan.
