If you were in a pub sometime between 1821 and 1970, chances are this is the Guinness you would have been drinking. Originally brewed as the XX version of our Porter, it’s hoppy, roasty, and crisp, with a bittersweet finish.

Flaska systembolaget. Kolsvart vätska med guldigt lätt skum. Rostad doft med lite choklad och vanilj. Ganska vattnig med svagt rostad karaktär. Lite jord, lite bark. Och så lite nötighet. Viss beska

Appearance- almost black, with a dark brown/ruby tinge at the base. Massive beige head which settles, leaving plenty of lacing. Aroma- toffee, roast malt, milk chocolate, hint of hops, some coffee. Taste- smooth chocolate, followed by roast malts, milky coffee, underpinned by hops. A bit watery towards the end. Milky mouthfeel.

Aroma: roasted grains, a little bit of biscuit, a tiny little bit of fruits, and a slight herbal note a bit like liquorice; sounds better than it smells; also, a little faint. Appearance: black; opaque; medium plus, stable head. Taste: not too bitter, a little sweet. Palate: body below medium; carbonation lively; finish bitter, dry, tart; on the one hand, there’s a nice spiciness from the alcohol, but on the other there’s this unpleasant corrosive feeling on the teeth, like from coke, and a Overall: meh.

Vielen Dank an Erzengel! sehr dunkel orangebraune Farbe, schöne bräunliche Schaumkrone. Der Geruch ist leicht röstmalzig, erdig, trocken. Geschmack sehr trocken röstmalzig, Karamell, Malzbonbons, gut!

500ml can from Ireland. The beer starts malty-roasted. Guinness-typical, easy to drink but still deep. Roasted oats, smooth bitter, fresh and easy to drink. Nice bitter roasted aftertaste, quite dry, fresh, smooth and full. Nice roasted, dry, great!

A classic, pours dark ruby red/black with bubbly head. Aroma of toasted malt, notes of dark fruit, biscuit, slight cofee and mild floral hop. Taste is medium bitter and mild bitter-sweetness. Lively carbonation and slightly slick mouth feel. Lovely.

Can / bottle in Ireland with the family - July 2015. Pours a deep blackish brown the way Guinness does. Mouthfeel is medium to light bodied with notes of soft roast, light milk/lactose and gentle coffee.

Bottle. The label said 4.2 rather than 4.3. Black with a small head. Some maltiness but no stand out flavours.Cant believe that I haven’t tried this before not that it was a great miss. Rather disappointing.
