Commercial Description:
A 15th anniversary recipe needs to be unique since so few breweries make it to their 15th year. For this recipe our head brewer Rodger Davis decided to throw out the style guidelines and create his own style. So he fused the finist ingredients, his relentless passion for good beer and topped it off with a bit of creativity. The beer is then aged in a bourbon barrel for 10 months creating a beer that is worthy of drinking for future anniversaries.

Bottle courtesy of Aspidites. I chose this beer for my 700th and to celebrate my birthday. Overwhelming aroma of bourbon and vanilla. I was afraid to taste it. My fears were unfounded. This was REMARKABLY smooth. Very nice flavors of roasted nuts, vanilla and just a hint of the bourbon. Alcohol was completely hidden. This beer has aged very nicely and was worth the wait. Thanks Mike!

thanks Dave for making this 700th rating an awesome one. Courtesy of ibrew2or3. Pours brown with beige head and still bubbly beige head. Aroma is loaded with bourbon, light creamy nose with caramel. Taste is malty and caramel with a butterscotch creamy warming mouthfeel that covers the palate. This is one beer that is hard to put down, the sheer aroma is just pure goodness. Words cannot do this beer justice.

Rating number 2000. Picked up at Ledger’s in Berkeley at least a year and a half ago. Pours clear amber with copper edges and thin tan head. The aroma is simply huge and can be sensed feet away from the glass. It comes across as rather boozy followed by woody goodness, a touch of caramel, vanilla and a bit of alcohol heat to the snoot. The taste is very smooth and rich. Wow. I get sweet caramel, some solid wood notes and vanilla. The taste then moves on to include hints of dark fruitiness like prunes and plums. Plain old YUM!

nip bottle from a trade from awhile back with odeed..... pours a medium amber brown with a thin wavy/wispy slightly off-white head.... sweet toffee and brandy like nose. very sweet.... flavors of semi-sweet bourbon and packaged with a little heat. toffee and caramels with a bit of a spicy alcohol bite at the finish. very low in carbonation like most of the other barrel aged drakes beers.

Nip bottle. Toasted vanilla bean and wet, musty wood, cocoa, fudge, ripe dark fruits, maple syrup and plenty of bourbon character on the nose. Toffee and very little lager characteristics. Pours a nearly still muddy brown with a few off white bubbles around the edge of the glass. Flavor is packed with caramel, chocolate and cocoa. More maple syrup. Wood tannin and faint remnants of spicy hops. Thick and oily on the tongue with mild carbonation. Finishes with a blast of rum dipped chocolate. Really quite nice and aging very well. Thanks Eric!
