Pour is a slightly hazed golden yellow, with a white head of about an inch which fades quickly o just a few soapy bubbles on the surface. Aroma of spicey earthy hops and some musty yeasty sweetness. There is almost a grain / corniness present in the nose as well - which also leads to an almost dirt floor character. Taste is nice, very fresh, funky and spicy. The earthiness and mustiness, and some bright sour funkiness is all present. Nice balance between all the component parts. Much more interesting than i was expecting from the nose. The finish features some dry bitterness that ends this one nicely. All around, a very enjoyable Saison.

Pours a cloudy orange-yellow with a large, white and thick head. Left a lot of lacings in the glass.
Quite pleasant and sour aroma of earthy tones, yeast, grape, pepper, malt and hay.
Taste of yeast, malt, spices and some earthy tones. The beer had many different flavors in addition to those already mentioned. Perfume, pepper and something that reminded of soap. The finish was rather bitter. An interesting and refreshing beer.
Next time I will drink one on a hot summer day. drjay44 (906), Salida, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 10, 2010 500 ml. bottle. Pours a thin off white tiny bubbled head, over a cloudy dark gold body.....nose is light lemon, clove, allspice, bit of coriander.....taste is light sweet malts to start, then moderately heavy allspice, with a bit of lemon, finishing with a spicy bitterness.....mouth feel is medium. carbonation fairly high. This is a pleasant enough Saison, and meets the style guidelines quite well. It is somewhat more bitter than many, and has less spice/citrus tones than the best. It is, of course, quite refreshing. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 25, 2010 20100225 500ml bottle from State Line. Medium golden color, clear, with small, quick white head. Aroma is lemony with some minty rosemary notes, papaya, burlap, white sandwich bread. Body is airy but a bit limp, like melting whipped cream, but there’s a slight dusty dryness to it up front. Most of the mouthfeel is hiding under an unfortunate sweetness which would be more appropriate in a regular Belgian pale ale than something that already has the sweetness of wheat malt to incorporate. The finish is somewhat tangy, and that’s a decent refresher. Overall it’s an okay beer, just odd and not really up to par with most of the other Nogne brews I’ve tried. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 12, 2010 Pour is a cloudy golden with a white head. Light lace and the head never quite goes away. This beer offers soft fruit, gentle spice, yeast, light bread, tart hop, and a dry bitterness. A sour finish. I am having it on a cold day but this would be great during a back yard bbq. Quite refreshing. joshwilfong (847), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 26, 2010 500 ml bottle from Ludlow Wines. Pours cloudy yellow-gold with a centimeter-thick white head. Aroma of pale malts, straw, barnyard, dust, and light fruits and spices. Flavor of pale malts, grains, straw, paper, pepper, lemon citrus, honey, barnyard funk, and floral notes. Light-bodied, and super quick across the palate- it’s pleasant, and it’s gone in a flash. Very dry. Medium-high carbonation. Nice, but just too light and breezy.
