Commercial Description:
This dark ale is a hearty and satisfying reward for those of us who embrace the frozen tundra. Uncut oatmeal fresh from Chilton, Wisconsin gives this Stout a "sink into it" smoothness that slides you into its depth. Handcrafted English Chocolate malt and Wisconsin Victory malt combine to balance this robust ale. Expect this ale to pour a luxurious rich head over a rich black ruby body. The powerful malt bouquet will greet you as you tip this silky smoothness from your glass. Our Oatmeal Stout is handcrafted in the time-honored traditions. Serve just above room temperature and relax -- road construction season will soon return.

Bottle. Pours black with a brown thin head. Chocolate, coffee, molasses and heavy roasts in the aroma. Taste follows with the addition of charred wood. A solid stout.

12 oz bottle

Poured a wonderful deep black. Picked up wheat, grains, malt and coffee in the nose along with some subtle chocolate tones. On first pass, I picked up oats, grains and several other earthy tastes. Later sips provided subtle coffee and vanilla flavoring. Extremely dry and very smooth - I could drink this one all night.

12oz bottle, courtesy of eclectic. Thanks, Kevin! Pours a dark, brown cola color; slightly oily; light tan head with patchy lacing. Plenty of cocoa and sweet milk chocolate in the aroma; dense and generous nose. Medium mouthfeel: nougat and milk chocolate at the core; plenty of warm caramel coming through (mild oxidation); a very pleasant, slightly smoky and spicy stout; a bit of a toasty marhmallow note coming through. Medium, milk chocolate and cocoa in the finish.

Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville - thanks to Facto for sharing! About midway through the tasting, this one was a very nice refresher. Funny to say that about a stout, perhaps, but it was certainly nice contrast from the sticky, boozy beers that had come before. A nice nose of chocolate and roasts, this had autumn campfire written all over it. Smooth mouthfeel, nice on the palate, a good one overall.

Uncut outmeal creates a super smooth stout. Dark as night with plenty of carbonation. Not over bearing heavy. Remind me a bit of 8 ball stout but not as tight.

12 oz. bottle from Tmoney99. Pours a clear dark brown with ruby highlights and a medium sized tan head. The aroma is moderately sweet milk chocolate, mild roasted malts, slightly nutty, all with a light earthiness. The flavor opens with a nice combination of semi sweet chocolate and roasted malts. A black coffee bitterness assumes control in the finish. Maybe a tad thin in the mouthfeel department, but a solid beer nonetheless.

Picked up a six-pack from Bob McFarland’s Liquors in McFarland, Wisconsin. Pours a dark cola brown brew with a thick and lumpy beige head that has some excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of toasted dark malt, dark chocolate, a little vanilla and some flowery hops. Taste is medium to full bodied, light carbonation with flavors of toasted dark malt, chocolate a touch of apple and roasted nuts. Finish is slightly metallic with some toasted dark malt aftertaste.
