KyotoLefty (15062) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 11, 2019UPDATED: AUG 11, 2019 Bottle in London. 5th new rate from MJ's 500 this summer trip. Nice citrus hop nose, sulfur, chalk, light, crackery malt and some herbs. Deep gold, clear, with a high, fine head. Flavor is maltier, with biscuits, lemon, chalk. The peppery finish is nicely bitter but a bit too chalky for me. This was probably one of the first hoppy UK golden ales, like Tangle Foot, but has stood the test of time better. Certainly it has been surpassed with the inflood of new world hops. Definitely still a decent drinker, if a bit too chalky.
coil (734) - Surrey, ENGLAND - JUL 21, 2019UPDATED: JUL 21, 2019 500ml bottle. Gold colour with white head. Sweet bready malt, citrus, grainy, light metallic, grassy, light vegetable oil, light cardboard, tastes a bit skunked despite brown bottle. Not too bad but kinda muted and boring overall
