Don't like Hefeweizen? Neither do we. Therefore we ripped this baby apart and reconstructed it to showcase all annoying aspects of this style - one by one.
@Wortspiele #4 - hazy amber beer poured in a shot glass with banana and clove balls swimming in it, no foam; aroma of ripe yellow fruits with hints of alcohol; more bitter than sweet, no carbonation and with warming alcohol notes to meet more banana in the finish - unusual experience ... of course
At Wortspiele #4. Poured into a shot glass with clove balls swimming at the top and banana balls lurking in the bottom. With the instruction to drink it up straight. The brewer commented that they dislike wheat beers and thus wanted to show how stupid wheat is. So they came up with the most bizarre experiment: Make a German Hefeweizen, double eisbock it, and serve it like this. Unfortunately it turned out extremely well, so they decided to showcase it. And now: On to the tasting notes. Pours unclear amber with no head, but the mentioned little balls inside. Aroma is very intense ripe banana, but also clove indeed. Fruit salad, too. Body is heavy, like a pure banana liquor, sweet and boozy and bitter, with the only flavours showing banana and alcohol. Almost no carbonation, unsurprisingly. Smooth, too. Lingering banana palate, fresh. Intense but surprisingly balanced. Very good!
