Commercial Description:
Vintage 2002: released beginning 2006
Vintage 2003: released autumn 2006
Vintage 2004: released summer 2007
Vintage 2005: released summer 2008

Editor’s Note: There is a lot of confusion on this one. Please look at your bottle. It belongs here only if it says "Vintage" on the label. If it does not, it belongs under the regular Oude Gueuze listing. The above vintage guide is not what you should go by, as there are both 2002, 2003, 2004, etc...releases of Vintage and Regular Oude Gueuze.

bottle, dated 7/3/03. thanks ygtbsm. pours a glowing orangish-copper with white head. nose is barnyard, tart, lemony and citrus. very nice. flavor is tart lemon, funky, hay, nicely rounded out acidity and sourness. very fruity gueze but the palate is a little flat and short. wonderful, but i preferred their regular oude geuze.

Defenitely even better than the other. It was sour and sweet at the same time, just impossible not to like. NIce colour and foam. Everything on it was great. The aftertaste is good.

Bottle @ Kulminator. 2002 Vintage. Pretty happy to get my hands on this one. Green label, green glass, golden pour, huge head. Massively bubbly, slightly cloudy, fantastic stuff. Sour and complex. Champagney with an off-note somewhere between light cheese and fresh tire (I’ll go with astringency). Musty and challenging. Very funky, probably needs time to grow on me. Strange and beautiful.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Vintage version dated 13/04/2002. The look is cloudy, peached colored, with a light white head. Very inviting. The smell is very woody, oak, fruits, tart, old smelling, funk, and barnyard. Very nice. The taste is acidic, fruits, wood. Good carbonation level. Nice dry finish.

Bottle. Light golden coloured with a consistant small white head. Slightly moldy but in a fresh way. Tastes a bit "dusty". High carbonation. Very fruity and flavour of grapefruit. A nice dryness in the aftertaste. Very good.

Bottle. Pours a foggy orange body with a medium-sized frothy head. Beautiful woody pine aroma , oranges, and cheese. Very sharp right up front - mainly citrus (grapefruit) twang and effervescent carbonation. Tart apples and cheesiness reappear. Excellent gueuze. Sampled at Oud Arsenaal in Antwerp on May 10, 2006.

Vintage 2002. 375ml bottle at the <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/sweden/s target=blank>Akkurat in Stockholm, Sweden. Golden-orange in colour. Long lasting off-white head, great lacing. The aroma is tart, acidic upfront, sour apples, lemons, pears, light honey. The flavour was quite tart and acidic but beautifully balanced with lemon citrus, grapes and green apple skins, some funky cheese. Sour mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes long and tart, long apple sweeteness then very dry. Fantastic stuff, another gem from this brewery.

Bottle from Bierkoning. Dated 12/04/2005. Murky orange body with almost no head. Really prickly and carbonated. Very sour and tart. Taste of apples, wood and soured fruits. Nice blend. (Still can’t warm to the style though.)
