4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 drk (3) - - MAY 8, 2013 does not count
Expected to be too sweet, but pleasantly surprised. Chocolately on the nose, bold but not bitter aftertaste. Almost like an alcoholic "affogato"! Wouldn’t drink it all night, but great for one or two.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Creedence (127) - Cork, IRELAND - APR 2, 2013
Draught at Porterhouse Cork. Pours a chocolate-brown/black with an inch cream head. Aroma of milk chocolate, sweet coffee and toffee. Very light cocoa bitterness followed by a strong chocolate sweetness. Very sweet finish, smooth, creamy and thick-bodied. An outstanding desert stout, just perfect.

On tap at the porterhouse central in Dublin. Strong chocolate truffle taste. Really Nice. Not my favorite chocolate stout but pretty decent and interesting. I recommend

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Beershine (5173) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - AUG 27, 2011
Bottle from El Nido. Reddish-tinted brown with scattered lacing. Smells like a box of chocolate dusted with cocoa powder, and some of the chocolates are filled. Thin but really drinkable. Balanced. Definitely veers towards the chocolate candy end of the spectrum and chocolate flavorings as opposed to what would be more satisfying chocolate malt but is still nice.
1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 Oakes (10941) - Savusavu, FIJI ISLANDS - AUG 26, 2011
Reddish-accented dark brown colour. Rich chocolate aroma with lots of artificial chocolate syrup. Thin, with fake chocolate character. No balance. Easily the crappiest of the dark beers from Porterhouse.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 patrick767 (3169) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - JUL 20, 2010
tap - Pours black with a lasting tan head. It has a big milk chocolate aroma. The flavor is sweet and roasty and damn near buried in chocolate. Medium bodied with a lingering, slightly bitter chocolate finish, it works though it could perhaps be a bit more subdued on the chocolate.
3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 18, 2009
Keg at the Porterhouse, Covent Garden, April 2008. Chestnut colour with a big fluffy head. Surprisingly pale for a stout. Outrageously intense milk chocolate aroma. Rather less intense on the palate but still all chocolate and not a lot else. Rather light, and sweet, mouthfeel. I felt that a beer so dominated by chocolate would have benefited from a fuller, richer body. As it is, it has more of a "chocolate essence" character and didn’t feel too well balanced. But, as a chocolate bomb, it is still quite appealing.
