Commercial Description:
Broken Halo IPA is a beer produced in the spirit of traditional IPA products shipped from the UK to India in the late 1800s. The almost excessive amounts of Cascade and Columbus hops used in Broken Halo give it notable citrus and grapefruit aromas and flavors. The beer bitterness measures high but tastes smooth due to the full-bodied, Caramel malt sweetness. The finish is juicy, clean, and short lived. A devilishly bold, heavenly smooth India Pale Ale. malts: PALE, CARAMEL 10L & 20L,carapils hops: ALCHEMY, CASCADE, zeus

Hazy orange color, small mostly vanishing white head. Nice strong, a bit yeasty aroma: pineapple, honey, elderflower. Pale malty, citrusy hoppy, some sweet fruity notes. Quite basic, but wellbrewed and balanced IPA. For sessions.

Bottled (thanks Kalevi Kurronen!). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity and floral hops with some slight honey and mild spices. Rather pleasant. Flavour is fruits, some honey and mild herbal and wooden notes. Quite sweet fruity finish.

Fruity, floral hop aroma. Grapefruit, citrus, toffee, and earthy flavors. Nice juicyfruit finish. A typical Northwest IPA but a welcomed change in ND (AKA the land of pale lagers).

Sample at The Stube at Skibowl Mt. Hood. Pours clear gold with a medium frothy white head that burns away steadily. Spotty lacing on the glass. Fruity hops aroma. Light crisp body with flavors of fruit, floral hops and malt. The finish is clean and hoppy with a short lightly bitter aftertaste. Pretty one-dimensional slightly above average beer overall.

12oz bottle from Kroger. Honey-colored pour topped with a sticky-icky, craggy, off-white head that leaves lots of lacing. Floral and citrus hops on the nose. Floral and citrus hops in the flavor. Minor malt backbone. Medium pine/floral finish. Needs more depth.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours dark gold with a medium white head. Has a mild fruity hop aroma. Solid syrupy thickness to the body, flavor has sweet candy malts and a great in-between balance of hop bitterness. Nice lacing left behind. A really quite good IPA.

( 12oz bottle thanks to fratto) Pours clear yellow-orange with oily bubbles on hop. Nose of bright citrus hops, oranges and grapefruit. Taste of light pine, citrus oils, with an oily body that’s slightly creamy. Refreshing and easy to drink.
