Commercial Description:
The French-speaking region of southern Belgium is the birthplace of saison, the love child of a centuries-old tradition of small rural "farmhouse" breweries, where native yeasts and time-honored recipes combined to produce some of the world’s most distinctive beers. As a tribute to this artisanal institution, we offer our own brisk, unruly Saison. Truly an artful balancing act, it is both rustic and subtle, robust yet effervescent, spicy and fruity.

Sweet painting on the label, a 750, corked and caged. Heavy yeast suspension in a yellow-golden body, with a lacing meringue white head. Pale malts in nose with faint ’rustic’ pepper. A little indistinct. Very sweet taste, lemon, lime, and Gala apples. Vanilla, pepper, faint earthy spice of indeterminate origin. Creamy and smooth, alcohol warms but is not to be detected otherwise. Delish, a good meld of flavors.

Appearance: Pours a hazy, pale yellow body with a small, white head. Smell: Aroma of pale malts and wheat charged with notes of dull citrus, a slice of multi-grain bread, dried flowers, rustic spices, and grass. Taste: Pale malts and wheat malt with a touch of sweetness. Some spices, some dustiness. Faint hint of banana. Floral, grassy taste. Mild bitterness. Citrusy, semi-dry finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Fairly refreshing and easy to drink. Not a bad lil’ saison.

thanks Yaniv! Pours a light clear yellow golden with a slight light haze and a loose white greyish head, diminishing quickly. Rather standard subdued Saison. A lot like Saison Dupont, only a bit sweeter, and less peppery in the nose. The mouthfeel is similar. Thinner, but more due to slickness than a lack of substance. The flavor is more or less in line with the nose. Light pepper, some spice. Not a huge amount of lemon, some straw. Drier finish. Oh I do enjoy saisons!

750ml bottle(batchS7290)-Pours a hazy yellow with a nice small tight white head which emits an aroma of citrus, yeast, firecracker smoke, and some hops. Taste is of the same with the hops becoming more abundant. This medium bodied brew finishes with a nice firm dryness. This is a damn good brew from Boulevard.

Aroma of citrus and spice. Taste is peppery, citrus. Very nicely blended with a touch of pepper and hops on the finish. Very decent fresh. I don’t think this will age well unless dosed with Brett. ---re-rate--- This will age well. I am retarded. Aroma is wheaty, lemony, dusty, and crisp. Taste is crisp and lemony too. Lots of wheat malt, subdued. Clean, no funkiness. The brett version of this is world-class, I think. Finishes dry. 747416

Hazy golden pour with a thin head and some floating yeast particles. The aroma is nice and fruity with hints of spice, pepper. The flavor is light sweet bready malts combined with nice corriander, citrus, spice, and some floral/peppery hops in the finish. Nice drinking, very sessionable and well done.
