UPDATED: MAY 18, 2022 Obtained at Gerrard’s Market from Redlands, California for $6.99, St. Peter’s Organic English Ale is an English pale ale crafted by St. Peter’s Brewery from Bungay, Suffolk, United Kingdom. The scent of marmalade, apples, and tangerine are felt upon the nose. The appearance is a clear gold that pours a low white head that dissipates gradually with an excellent circular retention left and decent lacing. When held up to light, the color shifts to a pale gold, and reveals a fair amount of carbonation. The alcohol content is 4.8%. First Gold hops imparts a marmalade hue, and deepened by malted barley. Pale malt blends with the marmalade and malted barley combination, which is slightly spiced by an anise like Marynka hops. Apples are easily picked out during the relatively dry, pale malt finish. St. Peter’s Organic English Ale is an alluring English pale ale. First Gold and Marynka hops, malted barley, pale malt, and apples blends into a delicious craft beer. The yeast sensation of the beer smoothens and flattens the drink while coalescing with the marmalade like First Gold hops. Malted barley and pale malt slightly weighs the body, merges with the marmalade flavor, and accented by the anise like Marynka hops. The relatively dry finish is crisp from the apples, which is accompanied by a lingering anise note. I cherished every single drink as this libation reminds me of my time spent in the United Kingdom. Cheers. Prost. Drink for the love of beer. For more beer reviews, visit and like my blog “Drink For the Love of Beer.”

dragnet101 (4476) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - OCT 17, 2020
UPDATED: OCT 17, 2020 500ml bottle. Pours gold, small white head, ok retention. Aroma of caramel and stewed veg rather than the 'Apple and marmalade' it promised on the bottle. Taste is caramel, herb like hops, slight hint of spice and a moderate bitterness in the finish. Light to moderate body and average carbonation. A fairly bog standard English gold ale. I quite like the style as sometimes you just want to switch off and have something simple but better than a macro lager. There are far better examples of the style than this though. This is my third pale beer from St Peters and all of them have been fairly average. Maybe they do better with darker beers like a number of older English breweries.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2020 Clear copper, visibly carbonated, thick white foamy head with lots of residue. Apple, malt, little hops, sour, light flower in the bouquet. Bread, biscuit, fruit, very sweet arrival. Turns to sparkly smokey biscuits, lightly toasted whole wheat bread. Tasty! Interesting finish of forest berries on dark roasted toast. Deliciously interesting.
