Golden in color with a dry hop floral aroma and intense hop bitterness supported by a big malty backbone which culminates into a hedonistic mouthfeel. Yee haw!

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2022 Poured from 355mL bottle (ABV listed as 8.15%). Clear-ish gold with white head. Sweet-ish biscuit malt, light saaz hops, not amazing, but solid.

Keg at BrewDog Camden in 2013. Always liked this one. Clear deep golden with a white head. Malty nose, with raisins, herbal hops and lemongrass. Sweetish malty flavours at first, then dried fruit, grassy hops and peppery notes come in. Fantastic body and great lingering malty flavour.

Bottle from Morimoto restaurant. Musty aroma with slight hops. Pleasant fruity taste. Enough of a hop bite to hide the booziness. Bready. Good!

Bitterbill (3241) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - OCT 17, 2017
From Dec 2005 Poured from bottle(room temp) a clear medium gold with a large head that dissipated slowly. The smell is pretty subdued with faint hints of hops and that overall "pilsner" aroma. The taste is a very pungent bitterness up front that makes my mouth pucker...I kid you not! Mid way, the bitterness settles down and becomes more of a citrusy flavour that carries through to the aftertaste. And...I find the alcohol in this imperial definitely noticeable but not in the "Malt Liquor" kind of way; it's soothing, and would be welcome on a cold winter's night. If you add up what I just wrote, you might think that I don't favour this brew all that much but guess what? I liked it enough to say to myself, I'm buying this one again.

Sampled at SBWF. No carbonation or head. Very opaque. Green aple aroma and raw hops. Big bitter bite that lingers and some hop taste. Medium body.

ACHops (1989) - Seattle, Washington, USA - NOV 12, 2016
On tap @ Rogue SF. Pours clear dark golden with thin creamy off-white head that laces well. Aroma is light sweet pils malt, with a slight corn note throughout. Dry, floral hops on the back. Taste is a big sweet light-bodied malt, boozy and thick. Same floral hops, though they really get overwhelmed by the hefty malt bill. Lingers slightly bitter on the finish. Pretty good as imperial pilsners go.

SlackerMads (4171) - DENMARK - AUG 4, 2016
Bottle with Sune and Theis. Hazy golden, medium sized nicely lacing white head. Effervescent. Grain, green plants, dry flowers, booze. Full body, some sweetness, heavy bitter, dry. Ok, but fairly boozy and bitter.
