Some grapefruit, pineapple, and floral notes. Mostly bitter flavor up front with strong grapefruit and pine with some toasted malt backing and more subtle flavors of tropical fruit in the background. Very resiny with some puckering bitterness in the finish. Lingering dryness has a light spice quality to it as well. I really enjoyed the variety of flavors I got from this one. I would put something like this up against a San Diego IPA any day. I wish it was available out here. gunnfryd (3859), Kristiansand, Norway

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 10, 2007 Very light tan head and a murky ruby orange color. The aroma is syrupy thick toasted grains and almost smokey orange. It doesn’t have the sweetness you would expect from the aroma which is nice because the balance it achieves is from a pretty forward alchohol taste that does a great mingling with a strong but polite bittering. I mean, It kind of does it’s job and then backs off - so there is not an overpowering aftertaste. Had it in a snifter at 50+ deg.
I think I like Dogfish 90 min better, but this is excellent. darkninja67 (40), Boston, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 10, 2007 bomber-pours a nice golden color with a thick off white head. Some sweetness followed by a disappearing bitterness. Smooth and easy to drink. Alcohol is well hidden for a 9% IIPA. I like the balance in this one. Nothing is overpowering to me. Definitely one to buy again. Great beer. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 10, 2007 Nice cloudy copper with a large head of foamy, off white. Mmmmmm... I love simcoe hops. Great nose of citrus. I am going to be biased since my favorite hops are simcoe. The flavor is divine. Hops and malts mesh together in a joyous place in my mouth. Toasted malts with a great dose of caramel. Citrus hops speak of grapefruit. Slightly sour and bitter but very lovable. Nice thick body lays heavily in the mouth. Finishes with a citrus bite that makes me want more. Thanks Mel! sunevdj (1853), Copenhagen OE, Denmark

Slightly bitter with a good sweetness and aromas of caramel. Strong fruity hops aromas. Slight grapefruit hint. Low carbonation. Almost heavy bodied. Quite bitter finish with a nice hops touch. I like the hops-prophile and the good balance. Axilla - you’ the man. Theis (4253), Denmark
