Pours pitch black like oil with thick brown head. Aromas of chocolate and roasted malt, some vanilla and a hint of coffee. Slight metallic hint at the end lets it ’down’. Good mouth feel and decent carbonation for the style. Taste is dominated by roasted malts and hint of cocoa with a coffee bitterness. Slight astringency leads to quite an alcohol kick. Served at 14C. Very good but I think I prefer the breakfast stout

Bottle. Aroma of fudge, dark chocolate, sweet coffee, raisin, prune. Pours out pitch black with a thick one finger brown head. Taste is medium to medium plus sweet with a medium light bitterness. Very smooth taste that follows the aroma nicely. Full bodied, silky mouthfeel, soft carbonation and a big finish of dark chocolate, light roast and sweet coffee. Very solid imperial stout than leans to the sweeter side.

Во вкусе и аромате черный кофе, горький шоколад. Плотное, черное пиво, пьется не слишком легко.

On tap at The Daily Pint. Jet black, completely opaque, with a modest dark brown head and minimal lace. Serious dark chocolate and coffee aromas accompanied by dark fruit, molasses and char. Strong semisweet chocolate flavor with a bitter hop kick; molasses sweetness, tobacco, dark fruits and earth also make a play. Warming alcohol throughout. Full body, minimal carbonation, thick, chewy mouthfeel and a lingering dark chocolate in the finish.

Pitch black with small, brown head. Aroma of dark roasted coffee beans, roasted malt, chocolate. Taste is sweet with chocolate. Finish is a bit bitter with too much alcohol present. The pricetag makes it a good Imperial stout though.

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. This is a near black one with a tiny kinda sidesticking dark brown top. It has a strong roasted aroma with a undertone of something that could remind a bit of green bananas mixed with wet campfire rocks and chocolate. Sounds strange, but I like it. Thick and chewy on the mouthfeel with a soft prickling carbonation level. Lots of roasted flavors, and the chocolate isn’t to subtle. Roasted coffee, lots of mouthdrying wood almost okay flavors. A bit of alcohol and some strong cold espresso coffee in the finish. Quite good, but picky as I am, I had hoped for a little more punch. 04.05.2013

Pours like motor oil. Beautiful color. Smells sweet and coffee. Balanced. I buy this by the case. I’ve gone through four cases so far this year. An excellent Imperial Stout. My favorite.

Aroma of coffee, pralines, dark chocolate, vanilla. Taste is sweet and light bitter in the end. Flavor of chocolate, roasted coffee, pralines. Great.
