Nov 10, 2009 Poured a cloudy dark copper color with a thick 1.5 finger head which fades slowly to a covering across the top of the pint glass. Lacing thin and consistent all the way down the glass.
Aroma is of sweet malts (slightly bready), and citrus and pine. Grapefruit mostly.
Taste is closely following the aroma here. Sweet and malty with grapefruit and pine. More grapefruit than pine in the finish. This is well balanced!
Mouthfeel is near perfection here. Carbonation balances the flavors of sweet and bitter.
Drinkability is also good with this beer. I could drink these all night till standing became a chore.
Well done Rogue! I like the selection of hoppy beers during this season. Just after the harvest ales come out we get this and SN Celebration! Lucky us!

Nov 7, 2009 22 oz. at Greens on Ponce De Leon. Nice dark caramel brown; virtually no head. Looks pretty good for an amber; very dark for an amber ale. Nice subtle pine/citrus hop aroma! Very nice hop aroma. Nice floral hop aroma. This has to be one of the best hop aromas in an amber ale that I have ever smelled. Nice big hop malt profile. Nice subtle citrus hop flavor as well. The palate is very smooth for an amber. I think this is a well-rounded amber, and very good. Very much underrated by a lot of others. I have tried this many times and always thought it was great.

Oct 18, 2009 POurs copper brown with notes of hops and then the deep bitterness and fruit of the hops on the mouthfeel. finished nice and long with bitter hop flavors.

Sep 30, 2009 Picked up on clearance @2.99 a bomber. Pour amber while light creamy head. Deent balance and flavor...hops are not dominant (distressing!) but there ia a distinct taste on the backside like a bready doughy crouton or something......

Sep 28, 2009 Red amber pour with a nice sized off-white head. Aroma distinct of hops and some fruit. Flavor is very hop strong with a little hint of fruit. You also can taste some spice in there.

Sep 18, 2009 Bottle from Gingerman. Too hoppy for my taste, but a nice brew for hop heads.
I’d like to have this again now that I like the hops.

Sep 14, 2009 A reddish brown beer with a nice 3 finger head, & a lot of carbonation. The aroma is sweet. The taste is sweet, caramelly, bready, with the hoppy bitterness at the end. This is probably best when drank fresh as the hops probably died down & it got sweeter the longer it was left on the shelf.

Sep 8, 2009 Hmmm... normally i like Christmas ales but this one doesn’t do it for me. Could be because i got it off the clearance rack for 3.99 a sixer 9 months after Christmas. Not a big amber/red fan and the extra hops aren’t exactly shining through. Balance is ok and the malts are probably the best thing this has going, there just aren’t enough of them, in my opinion. Sorry, Rogue. Normally, i love you.
