Commercial Description:
A tribute to the highly drinkable ""every day"" beers from French-speaking Belgium. Contains Belgian two-row pale malt and 7% wheat. This beer is lightly filtered with an earthy, spicy hop character from imported Styrian Goldings hops and a beautiful rich creamy head from the wheat. Dry quenching finish achieved by use of the traditional sour mash process

Poured a hazy golden with a small white head. A strong wheat/grass aroma and taste. A refreshing summer ale, but a little too much wheat for me. Had the after taste of Cheerios.

GABF ’07. Pours yellow with an average, creamy, off-white head, lasting with good lacing. Aroma is average malt (grain, hay, straw, meal), light hops (grass), average yeast (horse blanket, barnyard) with notes of clove and dust. Light bodied, oily texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.

Clear pale yellow with almost no head. Thin bodied with mellow notes of lemon and malty. Sweet and also tart. It tasted more like a Wit than a Saison.

This beer is a pale gold/yellow color and is mildly bubbly. Thin off-white head that did not last. The aroma is wheaty and vaguely spiced. Light and crisp with a nice hops presence along with more spice and a little citrus. The finish is a little on the sweet side but has a small hops bite to it. Kudos to Flying Fish for actually making a Summer Ale with some flavor other than lemon.

Draught: Very little aroma, though there were some citrus notes as well as a bit of wheat. Color was golden-yellow. Poured with a nice white head and had a good lacing. Taseted a bit citrusy, though fresh. Very refreshing and easy to drink. Dry finish. A good summer brew to sip by the pool.

Bottle: Vibrant yellow, clear, small to medium white fizzy head, spotty lacing, moderate carbonation.   Soft spiced grassy nose, not getting much floral aspect at all.   Lightly spiced, malty, but otherwise more like a spicy full-bodied Pilsner than a Saison.  Decent body, mediocre mouthfeel.   Slightly dry finish.   Drinkable, but not terribley interesting.   Thanks for the freebie Jeff!

On tap at the Oregon Brewers Festival 04. Pours a light orange/golden color with a faint white head. Aroma has a floral hop smell and a bit spicy. Taste is nicely balanced, light on the hop side, citrusy with a medium bitterness at the end. This brew had a thin mouthfeel and was kinda watery.

Again, not a particularly beer from Cherry Hill, New Jersey’s Flying Fish Brewery. Whaddaya expect from the city that gave us the 80s one-hit wonder, The Hooters. Anyway, this ’saison’ is generally milder and more watery than I had hoped, though it’d be nice on a hot day when you’re either playing tennis or waxing the car. Slight bitterness in the finish.
