Aroma of hops, citrus, pine and malt. Flavor is hops, pine, a little malt, and it all comes together well until the finish. There’s something herbal and unexpected in the finish with this one that makes it unique from a lot of other similar iipas.

Aroma is hoppy, boozy, resinous, with just a hint of sweet caramel. Palate shot is a freight train of hops, a consistent bitter coating with a rush of booze, hops, pine, resin, etc. This DIPA is on more juice than Lou Ferrigno...hops, booze, hops...it takes no prisoners. Doesn’t do a teriffic job of masking the 9.4% ABV but does become more and more enjoyable as it warms. She’s a boozy broad, and I’m happy I took her home tonight, but I’m not exactly gonna try to make her into a housewife. I respect Green Flash for their hoppyness but as Imperials go, this isn’t on the same level as Mission Shipwreck, Port Mongo, Pliny the Elder or Hop Stoopid. Will try it on tap to be sure and adjust my score if necessary. donttreadonme (8), Chicago, Illinois, USA does not count | 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 20, 2010 Hard to find anything to dislike about the West Coast IPA. Not a hop bomb, no, they’re too smart to make that - better to make it higher alcohol and smooth. Maybe it is a hop bomb, I can’t judge anymore, I drink too many hoppy beers, I’m even growing my own now. Any how - excellent beer - drink some. Hopper (436), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 16, 2010 An orange color beer with a nice head. The aroma is very grassy, resiny, fruity, a lot of basil scent in this. The taste is a juicy resiny hop taste, citrusy, very grassy but really basil and sage in this. This is like licking weeds out in the woods or chewing on a basil plant, or like a hoppy Pho. A great DIPA. sudsmeister (42), Colorado, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 14, 2010 This one rates right up there with the best of American microbrew IPAs. Might even edge Stone out a little bit. This brew has an excellent balance of hops and malt and doesn’t scrimp on either. Don’t drink it too cold. evr1dr (31), Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 13, 2010 Bomber. Pours caramel-golden with nice ivory head. Decent lace. Nose of grapefruit and pineapple with a touch of pine and malt. Balanced backbone. Taste of citrus, malt, nuts and honey. Medium finish. joeneugs (475), Livermore, California, USA

The aroma is almost perfect. Floral, citrusy, pine, a little peach and very fresh. The flavor is also right on. Loads of citrusy hops with nice floral esters and a touch of peach in the background. Medium sized body with a very strong bitter finish. Super drinkable and enjoyable. HarvestrOfBeer (19), , Washington, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 12, 2010 Damn tasty IPA. Had this on tap. Nice looking in the glass. Amazing floral / citrus / resin aroma. Great hop flavor without being overpowering. Nicely balances the malt. Nasdarovya! william146 (71), Winterville, North Carolina, USA

Smells and looks fantastic. Taste is less pronounced than typical Imperial IPA’s, but it was VERY good.
