Commercial Description:
Unfiltered.

Bottle shared by shawnm213- thanks, Shawn! Pours a clear orange-gold, more yellow at the bottom, with a frothy white head. Aroma of sour apple, white grapes, lemon, wood, leather, and straw. Flavor of sour citrus fruits, nectar, funk- very acidic. Sharp, sour, and tart. Medium bodied, with soft, gentle carbonation, for a nice effervescent mouthfeel. Interesting beer, and maybe my lower rating is because I don’t understand this style as well. I’ll revisit this.

Either I got a bad bottle of this., or I am really swimming against the tide. I’ve enjoyed other lambics I’ve had, but this was terrible (maybe it’s just the gueze style I don’t like). This poured a champagne color with little head and some carbonation. Unfortunately, both the nose and taste were a rancid mixture of very sour apples and vinegar. Early on, I kept thinking maybe the sour would be followed by a sweet sensation, a la Flemish Sours, but instead, it just kept getting more sour and acidic. Ended up cleaning the drain.

Pours a cloudy lemon orange with a fluffy off white head about 2 fingers thick. Nose starts with very tart citrus giving way to must and horse blanket, cat piss. Flavor starts very tart with tons of juicy citrus, finishes medium dry.

Hazy Nectarine pour with light frothy head. Funky Gueze aroma with lemon zest, some oakiness, and a sharp lemon tartness. Tartness is ballance a bit by a nice breadiness. Flavor is sharp lemon sour, very tart with a touch of funk and a lovely crisp effervescent mouthfeel. In your face gueze, not apologetic, just the way I like it. Fantastic

Finally tracked down this bad mother of a beer. Golden orange pour with some while pillowy head. Aroma of sour citrus, funk, leather. Sour flavor with a strong cheesy funk. Sourness really opens up as it sits. Strong, citrus sour and a bit of hay. Nice, delicate mouthfeel. Tart, leathery finish. Pretty standout gueuze.

bottle - Pours cloudy orange with a fizzy body and a one finger head. The aroma is full of wild yeast along with some nice fruity character. The flavor includes malt and fruit tones reminiscent of white grapes but the wild yeast funkiness is dominant. The funk kind of smacked me in the face for the first couple sips but became very enjoyable as I continued drinking. It’s a light to medium bodied brew with a bubbly palate. Very good.

Hazy amber pour with an effervescent body and small white head. Aroma is a funk fest- earth, nectar, citrus, horse blanket, lemon and acidic woodyness, and a slight bready yeast behind all the tartness. Flavor is an acidic sour-puss inciting funky citrus-nectar journey. This is a rude gueuze and I’m in love with it. A slight acetic acid puckering, smacking tart blast comes through with every sip. Palate is medium bodied, slippery, billowy and pillowy in its effervescence. Quite amazing.

Pours a cloudy apricot with a small white head. Aroma holds massive amounts of funk, barnyard, lemon zest, orange, horseblanket, and perhaps a bit of oaky woodiness as well. Flavor is great; very tart, with lots of funk, lemon, and other citrus. Got a hit to the tongue that reminded me of a more aggressive and less sweet yellow Sour Patch Kid; this beer is flat out rude. Palate attacks the tongue, but somehow I still want to drink more and more. Awesome gueuze.
