February 26, 2014 - on tap at Valley. Cloudy orange pour with some head. Aroma of citrus, spice and yeast. Taste was consistent with a grainy finish, maybe a bit soapy as well.

1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
The taste was very light refreshing but not sustained for more than about 30 seconds. Good aroma light floral and citrus. Not bad at all - but nothing special either.....a refreshing summer beer - ideal in the jacuzzi with factor 15.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle purchased in Hopkins. Cloudy, unfiltered visual. Aroma has some citrus notes with a little bit of malt. It seems to be a lower quality hefeweizen. Definitely taste the wheat but the bitterness prevails. Aftertaste really below average. Like the brewery overhopped this one.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Like that bottle design and artwork of Widmer Bros. Pale orange in the glass, a lot of bigger suspended parts. Low carbonated, small head. Apple and yeast on the nose. Starts light herb, apple, hints of citrus. Low bitterness in the aftertaste. I expected more. A lot more.

Bottle from Glug, Newcastle. This hazy golden beer pours without any head. It has toffee-apple and candy floss flavours with a sweet fruity finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
It’s hazy golden with a moderate white head. The aroma has notes of fruity hops and a touch of wheat and yeast. The flavor has a medium sweetness and a hoppy bitterness and notes of fruity hops, light yeast and wheat - although it’s a pleasant beer to drink as such - it’s incredibly far from a lovely German hefeweizen!

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hefeweizen used to be my favorite style, but perhaps I’m evolving. This seemed weak to me. Appearance is still great, not too cloudy. Very little aroma, and the citrus I’m used to was barely discernable.
