COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered "Premium" Ingredients: Malted barley, unmalted wheat and plenty of (mature) hops. Matured in oak barrels. This gueuze is obtained by mixing ('versnijden'), young and old lambiek. It achieves a beautiful balance between sweet, sour and slightly bitter, which makes it an ideal thirst quencher on hot and humid summer days. It is only mildly sour with touches of citrus, strawberry and caramelised grains. Premium Gueuze is the flagship brew of the St. Louis range and one of the jewels in the crown of Castle Brewery Van Honsebrouck. This was by no means certain when Luc Van Honsebrouck decided, a few decennia ago, to start gueuze production in West Flanders. Memorably, de Gueuze and Kriek Saint Louis were launched in 1958 which was the year when Brussels hosted the World Exhibition. This beer originally had an alcohol percentage of 5% ABV.

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2021 Drank on 13th October 2021 Mommsen-Eck Charlottenburg - Haus der 100 Biere. 0.25 litre bottle (BB September 2022). I chose this because I had tried all the other beers they had in stock and every new beer to me wasn't available; annoying! Anyway it was orange in colour and slightly hazy, wisp for a head. Sour puss of a beer with a hint of sweetness in the finish.

Malty finish, bit tart, some grassy hops, mostly biscuit & bread. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Quite artifical so pretty bad.
