COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ølfabrikken Gammel Ekstra Porter (Old Extra Porter) is an attempt to recreate a porter as it used to taste in its heyday. This beer starts with a pitch black wort which is boiled for 14 hours. This is necessary to obtain the slightly acidic flavor of burned sugar characteristic for the way these beers were produced. Aged 6 months before release. Only 360 bottles released. Of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers.

phredrik (1024) - Copenhagen (formerly Aalborg), DENMARK - OCT 10, 2012
Bottle thanks to Roblove. Pours black with no head. Aroma is very nice, aged and complex. Black currants, dark berries, cherries, chocolate, prunes, unlimited amounts of dark fruits. Excellent, complex and wonderfully aged. Taste is insane. Chocolate, cherries, blueberries, intense roastiness - though silky and smooth at that - some wonderful roasted tartness in the finish. This is beautiful. Viscous like a motherfucker. Great!!

Vielen Dank an DerDoppelbock! 10/12/12/14/8/12

One of my most sought after beers, finally tasted at Chris O’s in August 2008. Thank you, thank you Casey for sharing and sorry about the delay in entering!

Black with a small light brown head. Aroma of licorice, dried fruit, wood, with hints of smoke and molasses. Sweetish malty flavour strongly roasted, ranging from chocolate to burnt. Nice hop bite, with herbal hop flavour. I tasted a touch of smoke and even a little wood.
It was everything that I had hoped for!
