Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: 2 row German pale malt; Czech Saaz, German Northern Brewer hops.
Heaps o’ hops are hiding under the full, frothy head of this elegant Pils. All German malt subtleties linger beneath a long dry finish of this classy quencher.

Bottle. 10 days past ‘best before’. Pours a hazy light yellow with a white head. Good lacing. Sweetish, clean, crisp hop aroma with a sharp citrus/lemon note in the background. Flavour is hoppy and bitter, and has the same citrus/lemon note as the aroma. Lingering hop bitterness with grassy notes in the finish. Overall quite alright, but the citrus/lemon note is a bit like the one found in German ‘biermischgetränke’, which is not really my thing, so lower score for that. 29-10-09.

Yellow-Gold Color. Aroma is of grass and hops. Taste is also of such, and crisp. Not bad.

Tap. Pours a rather bright hazy yellow with a medium white head. Aroma is full of citrusy, floral hops. A bit of yeasty funk comes in with the flavor. Finishes dry. Very tasty and crisp, but it doesn’t have the malt backbone I really love in Czech pilsners.

12oz bottle - Interesting to try a pilsener from Victory. Smells pretty terrible and the hazy yellow doesn’t look much better in appearance. The taste is substantially better than your average pilsener, but this beer still leaves me wanting something else. Nice mouth feel. Probably will not re-buy considering the cost.

Hazy yellow pour from a 12 oz bottle. Aroma dominated by grassy hops. Light body with strong hops kick in the finish. Nice, distinctive, and tasty, but lacks a bit in subtlety, grace, and balance when compared to other first rate pilseners.

Appearance: Light yellow with a proud frothy snow white head. Aroma: Serious grassy hops, lots of hay, some mild floral notes too. Flavour: Bitter at first, lots of nice bitter hops with an enjoyable grassiness (could my aversion to Saaz hops be abating?) quite malty too. What an enjoyable Pisener... very nice. Very refreshing.

Sampled in 12 oz bottle. Crisp and clear with small head on it. Aroma is very nice with sweet hops. Flavor is a classic pilsner with really nice hopping to it. Drinks really refreshing and smooth. By far one of the best pilsners out there.

12oz bottle, best by May 8, 2010. Pours pale golden with a nice fizzy and frothy white head that maintains a small cap and leaves some clumpy, although short-lived, rings of lacing. Aroma is heavy on grassy, earthy hops, some floral hops, a little fruit, white grapes even, along with a little funk and sourdough bread. Flavor has some citrus mixed in with the other hop flavors and bitterness, balanced against some bready, malty sweetness. Very flavorful. Good body for the style, medium carbonation. Drinks very nicely and is quite refreshing. I think this is the best pilsener I’ve had to date.

I thought I would like this more as I love a good pilsner, but I was a little underwhelmed. It ours a nice clear golden color with a small fizzy white head. The aroma is grainy with some hops and apples in the background. The flavor is very dry and hoppy. A good beer but lacks a little style IMO.
