Commercial Description:
The best of Germany meets the best of America in this brew. Crisp, refreshing and light, yet distinctly Beck's in flavor and quality.

I don’t think the Germans think of this as a very ’German’ beer. I mean, I’ve never heard of a ’leichtes Bier’ (light beer) in German... Anyway...this is a decent beer. It’s true, it’s crisp and refreshing and light, and yet, it has remarkably little if any flavour. How can I describe it? I think I’ll opt for non-descriptors here, to better explain the non-taste. It was cold, with a barely noticeable buzz effect, but it went well with my sandwich and chips at the Diplomat’s Deli...mmm... definitely not as good as Yuenling Light or Sam Adams Light taste-wise, but about as pleasant as say, Southpaw Light. I still think the best Beck’s is the Oktoberfest one.

Bitter, skunky and watery. But it has a cool foily think on the label, which will distract you from the taste.

Bottle, BB May 2010. Poured bright golden with a short cap of electric white head. The aroma picked up light honey and pale malts with some skunk and faint, but crisp floral hops.. non-offensive, but non-much else. The flavor found light pale malts at the core with a grainy feel around.. bitterness was light.. again there wasn’t much going on. Very light-bodied with prickly, sharp carbonation on the palate.. watery.

The worst of Germany meets the worst of America in this awful, skunky brew.

Clear golden pour, short lived head. Smell is very faint malt sweetness. Taste is extremely watery with a slight bitterness and faint sweetness. Mostly like seltzer water though. Drinkable, refreshing light beer, and not offensive or skunked.

Overall Impression: Seriously bad, crappiest German beer I’ve found. It’s like they decided to make the German Bud Light...If that was the goal, well done!

Drank from a bottle. Very thin and watery tasting. Not a bad flavor. Just no flavor. One to avoid.
