| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 15, 2010 Pours pitch black with ruby/brown tints and a big, tan head. Nose is of raisins, dark chocolate, coffee, and a big, fresh, citrus hop bitterness. Initially bitter on the tongue, but mellowing out into chocolate, coffee, more bitter chocolate on the back end, roast malt, and a lingering bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium-thick and smooth. nuplastikk (1369), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 14, 2010 12oz bottle. Very attractive appearance, opaque black with a rusty tan head. Deep chocolate aroma, with a hint of coffee. A nicely balanced example of the style, with thick rich malt tones and a rather sharp hop tones marrying quite well. Relatively mild carbonation, but just flat out intensely bitter, this has to be one of the bitterest Imperial Stouts out there. Toasty burnt black malt tones as well, really adds to the depth. Wow. Intense, but refined and delicate. Awesome world class Imperial Stout. bblack99 (253), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 11, 2010 Call me blasphemous, but I think brew might be overhyped. 12oz pours a deep black with the slightest ruby edges in the light and a huge fluffy tan head that lasts and lasts, creating great visuals.
Sadly, the aroma on this bottle fell flat, with very little other than some roasty malt, eventually opening up to an almost unnoticeable touch of vanilla and licorice.
Flavor is on point with a dark roast coffee, loads of malt, and a bit of smoothing cocoa. Palate is just a touch on the watery side, but otherwise very good. FSUScott (66), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

This beer is fantastic. It pours almost like motor oil out of the bottle, the head is huge and foamy. The aroma is sweet, scents of cherry. Taste is hops and large malty finish. Flavors of caramel malts are in the aftertaste. I can’t believe this beer is 9%! This is a must have. IPAsavedMYlife (44), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 5, 2010 Relatively typical stout. Lower amount of carbonation, but thick. Darker brown head no lacing. Musty coffee nose with big musty dry finish. High smell / taste of alcohol. tastybeer (211), Washington DC, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Mar 5, 2010 Bottle. Pours thick black with a two fingered brown head. Flavor is rich, lots of dry hops with coffee, chocolate, liquorish. Not my favorite imperial stout but I can definitely see the appeal.
