Is is a very tasteful brown ale, that leans a bit towards the IPA-feeling, which makes it a refreshing brown ale. ksurkin (451), Norfolk, Virginia, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 20, 2010 I like brown ales but think there are a lot of bad ones out there. However, I found Jackie Brown to be a quite enjoyable glass. That said, it’s definitely hoppy for a brown. Again, personally, I enjoy this aspect, but a purist would probably consider it off-style. It’s quite a bit more fruity than nutty or roasty, though those flavors are present if muted. There’s a healthy chocolate note, which mixes well with the grapes, apricots and grapefruit rind hop notes that dominate. The beer pours a dark brown with a touch of red. The head is a pillow of khaki foam. It seems rather dry for a brown but I might just be tasting the hops there. Enjoyable. Nekronos (2344), Xalapa, Mexico

The nose is very subtle but good with a slightly funky slightly wood aroma. The flavor is also subtle but even better. Hints of vanilla and cocoa really add an extra complex sweetness while the finish is malty, crisp and tart. Probably best to let it warm a little bit as the flavors all become bolder. Excellent beer but who’s surprised when it comes to Mikkeller. sdriessen (253), Dunedin, New Zealand
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 14, 2010 Aroma is sugary with cinnamon, milk chocolate, spice and toffee. Smells amazing.
Flavours start out dry (and stay dry). Nice tangy/sour hints with a mild aftertaste of coffee. Huge amounts of hops last in your mouth forever.
Oddly, quite a crisp mouthfeel contrary to the aromas. Very Nice! TaxiDriver (999), Stadland, Germany
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 12, 2010 Bottle. A very malty aroma, some roasted aromas with dark chocolate and coffee. The head is small, creamy and brown with a short duration. The body is nearly black. The taste started very bitter, then it gets really dry in the mouth with a lot of coffee. The finish is a little bit sour. The body is medium strong and creamy- dry with a soft carbonation. NJBeerman013 (825), Trenton, New Jersey, USA
