The appearance is clear brown with a small head. This is one of the most delicious brown ales ever, so clean and crisp on the palate, but rich with flavor at the same time. The subtle flavor of the chocolate malts come through, but not sweet, just pure.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 12, 2010 12 oz. bottle from Total Wine in Chesapeake, VA. Pours brown with an off-white head. Aroma of floral and citrus hops (mostly) with some sweet toasted caramel and hints of nuts. Flavor is full and rich with smoky malts and brown sugar. Very lightly hopped. I’m not the biggest brown ale fan but this is a good one. I’m also not big on session ales but this would be a very good choice and a nice alternative to many other session beers. spkldhenlvr24 (496), Newburgh/Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 5, 2010 Bottle. Pours a deep brown body with a reddish tint when held to the light and medium, quick khaki head. Aroma is light roasted nuts, malts, and some sugar. Flavor is full of semi-sweet malts, bitter balance and and nice roasted chocolate, nutty finish. Medium bodied, easy drinking. A little disappointed by this brown but overall not too bad. clowe (21), Ohio, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Feb 7, 2010 Aroma is full of really nice chocolate, caramel, nutty roast. The hops aren’t particularly noticable. There is an earthy vanilla aroma about it. The appearance is a deep brown color with a flat color, the head is there for a moment and then gone, into not much more than a wisp. The taste is smooth full of a really nice chocolate and caramel malt, with a little alcohol as well. The palate feel is excellently smooth, the body is medium to heavy, with a smooth texture, the carbonation is perfectly soft. The beer could become an all day brew. Excellent. douglas88 (1804), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 27, 2010 Bottle. Poured brown in color with a small light brown head that was mostly diminishing with nice lacing. The aroma was of roasted coffee malts, piney hops and a nice doughy yeast scent. It tasted bitter-sweet at first and finished slightly bitter of hops with the flavor staying with you for quite a while. Mouthfeel was creamy yet oily in texture and medium in body. Overall a tasty brown ale, typical of the style.
