An outstanding hop from New Zealand, Nelson Sauvin, is generously used throughout the brewing and dry-hopping of this unique beer. European rye is added for a smooth, malty addition to flavor. 1.065 OG 7%ABV

How have I not rated this beer yet. Had multiple times on draft and bottles. Orangish gold pour with white head. Cat pissy nose of Nelson Sauvin hops with a trace of citrus. Taste follows the nose with not much malt on the back end. One of the best out there for sure.

Pours a finger of head on a light straw body. The aroma is lots of grapefruit. The taste is moderate grapefruit bitterness, pine and more grapefruit. The texture is crisp with soft edges. It’s good and bold.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden/yellow color ale with a large foamy head with excellent retention and some really good lacing. Aroma of floral hops of mango, Sauvignon and papaya is just ab out perfect. Taste is also dominated by loads of fresh floral hoppy notes of mango, papaya and Sauvignon. Light residual sugar notes can also be detected and bitterness is very minimal. Body is about average with good carbonation. Can’s say I really tasted the rye malt so much but the hops flavours are just about perfect.

Perfectly executed golden rye ipa that showcases how tasty Nelson Sauvin can be. The rye really is the kicker that balances out the sweetness of the hop and malt profile. Top 5 beer for sure.

On tap at Gold Cash Gold in Detroit. What a surprise. Very smooth, lightly hoppy but great balance. Excellent ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice and the perfumeis unique. The body is not that of the duet so less malt. Cleaner but not as robust. Funky in a good way

22 oz bottle. Tasted on 4/20/15. Bottle courtesy of Gary G. Aroma was slightly dank & hoppy. Taste is smooth with a great body & carbonation. Great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pale orange with a decent pale head. Aroma is apricot, honey, melon, hints of oak and white wine. Full bodied, fruity on the palate with a good balance and slightly dry, boozy finish. Taste is apricots, green peppercorns, dried apricots, hint of melon, white wine and oak.

Thanks ericteusink for hooking this one up. Only my second Alpine beer. High bitterness of grapefruit, orange, hint of tropical, solid malt base, bits of pine as well. Very nice.
