Completely opaque black with a brown head. Aroma of lots of coffee and roasted malt. Flavor of malt, caramel, some chocolate and espresso. Finishes with a lot coffee and a bit of alcohol. Rather full-bodied. Very good but I didn’t find it that impressive.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 13, 2010 Tasted 3/10/10. 12.7oz bottle. Synthetic cork and cage. I do believe this has been in the basement since about 2007. Pours pitch with a webbed beige trace head. Aromas of molasses and chocolate cake. Dark dried fruits and dark chocolate. Sweet fudgy nose with hints of coffee and toffee. Great nose! Full bodied with a big palate. Great complexity and body. Good amount of dark thick chocolate and a big coffee flavor and acidity. Dry woody character. Good dose of warming alcohol burn. Syrup and fudge. Lotta dark esters and dried fruits. This is super tasty! eManu (277), Brussels, Belgium
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 12, 2010 Plastic corck really hard to open, pours a deep black brown color with a very litle dark beige head, almost flat. Aroma of deep roasted caramelised malts, oaked dark fruits, coffee, yeast and spices.
Flavors of espresso, black chocolate, some hints of caramels and honey, yeast and spices present. Very low cabonation, sweet and bitter, thick, somewhat creamy. Long lasting coffee bitter in mouth. Good complexity, to bad it has no head, but still an excelent and heavy stout. Abio (117), Waasland, Belgium
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 7, 2010 Bottle at home, shared with a good friend. This is, some nice beer. Coffee, chocolate... No head, that’s a bit sad, but not the most important. Very dark almost black beer. Vanilla, fruit, some sweetness, chocolate, roasted taste. Dark fruit, caramel, a manly nice brewed beer, but my friend didn’t seems to like it as much as me... Seems a bit a love or hate beer :) randy1301 (44), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Alcohol, roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, soy, lovely!
Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, sugar, alcohol, roasted malts, soy, hops and coffee, rich as can be!
Smooooth, just smooth and oily thick.
This is just great! Best I’ve had from my favourite brewer so far and that says a lot! minch25 (381), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 27, 2010 Pours dark brown, with reddish highlights; almost no head. Strong aroma; boozy; high quality black coffee; roast. Very sweet flavor, low bitterness, alcohol does well adding kick without being overbearing. Very cohesive and well integrated flavors. Their IPAs and such can be hit or miss, but damn can they make an imperial stout. An excellent companion beer to the Brunch Weasel but without the excessive weirdness. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 13, 2010 Found an old ratings sheet cleaning up my kitchen. Yay! Bottle. Pours tarry/inky black, thin head, spotty lacing. Nose is like a Turkish coffee-punch to the face, huge sweet coffee aroma, as overt as the Breakfast is restrained. Palate is big and oily and boozy, but in a FAR less offensive manner than Dark Lord or WWS. Fantastic!
