Citrus, grass, and malty aroma leads to a similar flavor. Biscuit malts really help tone done the hop bitterness. Nice, light hoppy flavor with decent bitterrness. Solid but not earth shattering. Sessioned thise one quite nicely on St. Paddy’s day.

Has a very cloudy burnt orange color. Very hazy with large, prominent bubbles floating to the top. Excellent foamy head. Now THIS looks like a beer. Frosty lace, lookin’ good... Fantastic hop aroma. The hops have a floral and woody scent. Very very strong. Has a slight hint of mild oak flavor. Very smooth hop flavor with a bitter bit toward the end. Has the flower-hop taste with a mild oaky malt base. The oak is not overstated, very subtle. Thick and bubbly, sticks around after the facst, but doesn’t leave a film or anything. A strong, flavorful IPA. The oak does a nice job of dulling the sharpness of the hops. It’s a very nice beer indeed.

Pours deep gold into a shaker. Significant off-white pancake head recedes leaving spotted spiders. Lemon joy aromas. Astringent with harsh lemon and resin from front to back. Lasting bitter lemon pith finish. Gets worse as it warms. Drain pour.

bottle: pours clear dark orange, almost brown, with an off white head.. nicely quaffable, sweet caramel malts, biscuity and some boozey bite. Hops are grassy and bitter that sits nicely on the tongue. Nice medium body and pretty smooth. Almost approaches a marzen sweetness. Never an award winner, but good.

Moderate off-white head, wonderful sharp hops aroma w/grapefruit -like undertones. Coppery-gold and clear. Definitely bitter like an IPA should be, but was somehow lacking. Overall, a decent beer, but not what I’ve come to expect from this brewery. Try one of their other IPA’s.

Bottle from Siciliano’s. Pours a clear orange/amber with a medium off-white head. Piney and grassy hop nose with some sweet malt. Grassy hop flavor with sweet malt and a piney finish. Decent IPA.

Feb. 1, 2010; 12 oz. bottle (fr. Arcadia sampler 12-pack); sampled in a St. B goblet. Burnt-orange color; creamy head; nice lacing -- looks scrumptious in the glass. Piney aroma. Caramel malt backbone. Hops are tingly, persistent & slightly-astringent, but not overpowering in any sense. I could envision some hopheads complaining that this brew is slightly unbalanced toward the malt side -- and it does seem this recipe could be pulled-together a bit more -- but the result is not unpleasant by any means.
