Commercial Description:
The Duck-Rabbit Baltic Porter is deep, rich and velvety soft. A full blooded roasty character is balanced by complex alcohol notes. Strong (9% alcohol by volume) yet unfailingly subtle, this special brew warrants sipping and savoring.

Pour was slightly aggressive produced a HUGE darkish brown head, like 3 + fingers. Big roasted chocolate and coffee nose, This baby smells thick. The complex aromas take a few minutes to decipher, Let’s see. I got coffee, smoke, vanilla, some earth yeast(?) and chocolate, whiffs of both dark bitter sweet and milk chocolate. Now for the taste. Huge roasted malt with a strong background of anise/licorice. Mouth feel was thick and full. I am also getting some dark fruit and maybe cherries. I don’t know, this has a hole in it somewhere. The ABV is present at the first taste, right on thru. This feels like A whole six pack smashed in one glass, A sipper this is.

Pours a deep, slick brown with little head. Strong aromas of black coffee and cacao. Lush, creamy palate shows off the dense, rich chocolate and mocha. Some nice woodsy notes as well as a little hint of acidity from the hops that show very little in the way of bitterness but do cut the strong malts. A complex, well-built porter and an instant favorite.

black body with minimal head...nutty, caramel, toffee, chocolate, and vanilla bean aroma that finishes with a slight cola nose...superb baltic flavor profile (huge in caramel, nuts, vanilla, molasses, and marshmallow)...perfect slick, oily mouthfeel..a top-rate beer for sure!

Bottles from kenb and Ross. Thanks to the both of you. Pitch black, oily, with a huge beige head. Great lacing. Aroma has a big smoke kick up front, then chocolate, roasted grain and faint alcohol. Tons of residuel sweetness, mollasses up front in flavor. Again lots of chocolate, smoke, and some faint bitter coffee in the finish. Great oily-smooth mouthfeel. Very nice!

Excellent. Pours a jet black with a brown bubbly ring. Aroma is sour and biting, with a bit of tart candy. Flavor is very complex, sweet and tangy, salty like soy sauce, burnt like coffee. Every sip is different.

Black. Short, frothy, light brown cap. Nose of graham crackers, lactose, dry wood, burnt malt, pbj sandwich, subtle coffee, and bittersweet chocolate. Similar flavor without the pbj and the addition of huge earthy, bitter hops that also carry some resinous venom. Some chocolate chip cookie in there, also. Full body, viscous with enough carbonation to balance. Excellent. Duck Rabbit = dark beer specialist.

Courtesy of Papsoe. It is pitch black with a light brown, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, licorice and dark fruit. The mouthfeel is nice and fat. The flavour has sweetness and notes of roasted malt, licorice, dark fruit, chocolate and preserved berries. It is a very pleasant and well balanced Baltic porter.
