Hazy, dark orange brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. More grainy fruity yeast in the flavour. Medium body is a little rough. Average.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 4, 2006 Bottle found in Taylortucky Michigan, who would have thunk it: Poured a coppery hue with a long lasting frothy head and good lace. The aroma has notes of biscuity and bready malts, a bit cardboardy and oxidized, grassy hops, walnut and buttery. The flavor profile pretty much follows suit with a lot of mild sweet malt and a nutty background with just a hint of hops. Again, very much to the style of an olde ale but lacks the power and depth of the better examples. Still I found this quite surprisingly drinkable and perhaps the watery palate works here. burnish (13), Milton, Ontario, Canada

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2005 Sometimes you have a beer, one of those beers you pick up for kicks to mark as a quick notch on your bedpost... but you just let it sit in the back of the fridge completely forgetting about it until one day you are in dire straits for something new, somthing to quench your appetite in a way never before experienced. This one is one of those beers, and perhaps having had it rest a bit has given it a robustly smoky and sweet flavour I never wouold have expected. Like burnt whiskey on top of honey. Whoa! It’s part of the moosehead? Who would have thunkit? mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
