generallee08 (784) - New York, USA - JUL 24, 2014This beer raises a very tall white head which slowly settles as I drink. A nice cap of foam hangs till the last sip and makes for some slick lacy finger patterns on the glass. Its body has a somewhat tan, sandy amber color which is quite murky. The aroma is yeasty and estery with tons of wheat and some hints of its 8% abv. I also pick also pick up on some hops in the background that add a light earthy/spicy/floral character. Its medium to full body has a big yeasty and malty character with notes of banana baby food, unripe peach, pear, mellow phenolic clove and sweet wheat. Towards the finish there is more grainy wheat and light hints of hops and mildly spicy alcohol. The palate feels heavy, smooth and slick with mild carbonation.
crossovert (17165) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 4, 2013Old tick. This one was very banana like and sweet, not sure when or why it was discontinued.
Marstonlad (1313) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 17, 2013Bottle at O’Connors, Uppsala. Hazy orange color, very little white head - was completely clear before the yeast was poured from the bottle. Cloyingly sweet aroma with overripe fruit, syrup and berries. Taste is sweet and spicy with berries and toffee combining in a way that is similar with some barley wines. Very full body, sticky texture and a flat carbonation. This was a really interesting, complex beer - didn’t detect much wheat in the taste or aroma, though.

laiti (11462) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 20, 201365 cl bottle @ O’Hara’s Freehouse. Rated on 17.04.2010
Rather unusual appearance; after the pour I can see the yeast falling towards the bottom of my glass. Aroma is somewhat sweet banana esthers, yeasty notes, fruits and hints of alcohol. Flavour is sweetish with wheaty notes, fruits, banana esthers and yeast. Finishes with somewhat stinging alcohol. Good still.
superspak (9599) - Greensboro, North Carolina, USA - NOV 6, 201222 ounce bottle into weizen glass, no bottle dating but this has been retired for a couple years at least. Pours very hazy golden amber color with a fairly dense 1-2 finger white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing on the glass. Aromas of big banana, lemon, pear, wheat, caramel, honey, clove, bread, orange, pepper, bubblegum, earth, and yeast spices. Pretty nice aromas with good strength and decent balance; the age is definitely apparent. Taste of banana, orange, clove, pear, wheat, biscuit, caramel, lemon, pepper, honey, earth, toffee, and yeast spices. Lingering notes of banana, light fruits, wheat, biscuit, clove, caramel, pepper, and yeast spices on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and complexity of flavors; good fruity/spicy flavor balance; zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a slick and creamy mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice imperial hefeweizen. Nice balance and complexity of flavors; and very smooth to drink for an 8% beer. Very enjoyable offering, despite the noticeable age.
PhillyCraft (12794) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 31, 2012Bottle. 22 oz. Pours a deep, brilliant yellow with a pristine, tightly bubbled white head. Beautiful lacing throughout. Aroma of lemon zest, fresh cut hay, slight grassiness, and hints of orange peel, clove, and banana. Medium bodied with a loose, silky, creamy palate. Slight tanginess from the citrus flavors. Extremely smooth finish. Excellent weizen.
ESBob (379) - Indiana, USA - MAY 12, 2012Bomber. Pours a light orange, cloudy and unfiltered. Arom is a light floral, sweet. Taste is ripened fruit, apples maybe. A nice wheat beer offering!
Steve_0 (3744) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 10, 2012Bottle at Dan’s, pour courtesy of Aaron. Thanks! This bottle is probably 2-3 years old, so my rating would probably change if this was fresh. Anyways, poured a hazy orange with little-to-no head. Aroma is very musty, dead malt, fungused bread, and some metal, IDK, haha. Taste is old, liquid bread, stale wheat, and just not very appetizing. Thin body and overall the taste is just expired. Bleh.
arminjewell (9756) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - MAY 9, 2012Pour out of 22 oz bottle, slightly orange with white head, aroma has notes of wet grain, some slight vanilla, touch of biscuit, bread and mineral water, lots of cardboard as well. Taste is cardboard, vanilla, some dusty mineral, some slight off taste hints of bread, finishing fairly sweet. Definitely past its prime.
