Aroma is fairly malty with a very sweet fruity honey-maple smell. Flavour is surprisingly bitter with strong caramel maltiness. Bitterness tails off in the finish. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, but not bad.

Smells phenomenal, wish it tasted just like it smelled. Still a good solid German Doppelbock. inbirraveritas (149), Budapest, Hungary

Enyhe csípősséggel indul, utána válik érezhetővé édes, cukorkát idéző, gyümölcsös, karamellás íze., mely selymesen terül szét a szájban.
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 16, 2010 Beer poors a dark foggy amber with a slight white head. Aroma is of raisin, fig, and alchol. No hop aroma. Aroma translates in to the flavor presenting the palate with dryed fruits, and a sligth sweetness. Roasty notes are present on pour and bitterness balances the beer but not in hop aroma or flavor. Malts are the star of this beer. Palate is dry with and alchol presence is apparent in the mouthfeel. Overall, this dopplebock is very nice. rondphoto (13), Kentucky, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 15, 2010 A rich, dark golden-brown, plenty of malt, with hints of caramel, almond (or maybe hazelnut), and a definite taste of alcohol. Excellent for cold weather, a bit heavy for summer. ClubGonzo (98), Bergen, Norway

Smells of yeasty caramel. On the palate it appears smooth and almost oily, quite to my taste. Flavor is intensely malty, with notes of burnt almonds, booze and grapefruit in the aftertaste. A feisty blend. Alcohol could have been better hidden, but otherwise a very nice, strong doppelbock. gpekar (249), Maryland, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 13, 2010 Poured a slightly hazy medium amber/orange with a tall creamy light tan head. There was a good sweet aroma with some bread yeast, caramel and a hint of tart cherries. The initial taste was slightly dry followed by a good mellow sweetness of caramel. The finish was rather mild and left the sweetness lingering for a short while. uhre (354), Denmark
