Commercial Description:
Our IPA and Stout converge for a really great flavor combination to create a rich and robust black & tan. The assertive hoppy character of our Hoppin to Heaven IPA is perfectly complimented by the intense deep roasted flavor of our BORIS Oatmeal Imperial Stout. Two great tastes that taste even better together.

Pours a deep brown with a medium head. The aroam is great with lots of fruity hops and dark chocolate. The flavor is much like the aroma dark chcolate, some nice bitterness, lots of fruity zesty hop character. There is some dark fruit in there as well. Really tasty stuff.

Suttree’s Nothing else to do in Mid-February Tasting. Sample from a bottle thanks to decaturstevo. Dark black, tan cover. Aroma is light roast, that indescribable mixed black and tan aroma. Taste is much more roasty, saves itself as being more like a porter and less like a mixed black and tan. I still don’t get the point of bottled black and tans.

Black with a small off-white head - the stout side really shines though on the appearance side. The aroma is also a lot like a stout and includes notes of chocolate, darker malts, hops, and oats. Its both sweet and bitter at the same time. The taste is nothing like I’ve had before, it has an initial chocolate/oats/caramel taste and then finishes with the bitter/hops/carbonated kick. Its a smooth transition between the stout and the IPA: very drinkable.

It is black, so the name is half right, at least in that regard. Smells like coffee, mostly with maybe a little bit of piney hops. Flavor is coffee-esque, as well, with a note of blackberry and the a piney, woodsy hop finish. Thanks to decaturstevo for bringing this!
