In 1996, the brewery innovates and launches Barbãr, ale with honey.
Born of the ancestral know-how of a family brewery, Barbar beer will please you with its malt taste and subtle flavour of honey. It is brewed using water drawn from artesian wells on the site of the brewery, at Quenast, a small village to the south of Brussels. This area is well-known for the quality and the diversity of its beers.
Barbar beer is prepared from a secret and harmonious mixture of barley malts, hops and honey carefully selected by our Master Brewer. The traditional brewing method, associated with our unique strain of yeast, and the secondary fermentation in the bottle, gives Barbar the authentic flavour of a very special ale.

pindolaire (619) - SPAIN - NOV 6, 2023

Skoll.

TorbenJensen (2044) - Valby, DENMARK - JUL 22, 2022
UPDATED: JUL 22, 2022 It has a large persistent head of foam and quite a good aroma of fresh grain and yeast. The taste is light caramel malt with clear traces of honey and a little spice. The alcohol of 8% is perceived as a light tingle on the tongue and its malty sweetness with the main emphasis on honey contributes to a good fullness. The hops have a bit of citrus, but don't perfectly balance the otherwise sweet nuances. In the aftertaste, a little white pepper can be felt together with an indefinable spice. It's certainly not boring, but I think the sweetness takes up a little too much and I could really have thought of a bit more bitter hops to abstract. Maybe it's just me who has become a bit too picky, because it's not really bad.

pleispleis (1554) - Maccagno, ITALY - MAY 14, 2022
UPDATED: MAY 14, 2022 bottiglia 33 cl, bel cappello di schiuma bianco sporco fine persistente, color oro velato, al naso miele frutta matura marmellata di pesche note floreali, in bocca frutta gialla miele zucchero filato note erbacee, corpo medio/leggero, carbonazione moderata, discreta secchezza, dolce con amaro moderato. Buona ma non mi ha entusiasmato. c. Birraland.it 14.05.22
