A stale beer aroma was noticable. Mouthfeel was stinging with carbonation burn and watery. Flavor was that of a strong ale with alchohol burn. Aftertaste was lingering bitter. I like bitters. I drank this ice cold and found it quite refreshing. I’d drink it again for free. blkitson (138), Westerville, Ohio, USA

THis one has a nice reddish color with a vey nice aroma to it. Once again, for every Red Hook I’ve tried, there is really not much of a head to it. All in all, a pretty good ale JoeMcPhee (5158), Jackson Heights, NY, Nova Scotia, Canada
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 15, 2007 Pale amber beer with a thin head. Aroma is lightly earthy with a touch of hoppy spice. Willamette or something like that. Slightly bready malts, but a bit thin and understated. Pretty underwhelming. thefederalist (230), Jonesboro, Arkansas, USA

Flavor is slightly bitter from hops but balanced well with malty goodness. Finish is nutty and dry. Very enjoyable ESB. incutrav (577), Woodbury, Minnesota, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 10, 2007 Pretty good for an ESB, only other coupe i have had is the SUmmit and Fullers. Redhook makes a decent craft, and this was no exception. Best part, found this under a bunch of junk in my buddies garage while looking for my tackle box, score! cperry8483 (41), Platteville, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 8, 2007 Not bad. ESBs are one of my favorite types of beer and this one is pretty average. Bitter (obviously), with very slight maltiness to balance it. Balance is key with ESBs, and this is a very drinkable beer. However, there are definitely better ESBs out there. lmubeertrainer (3), USA does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 4, 2007 Full bodied beer. Great flavor. At first it has an overpowering flavor, but once you taste it....you are hooked!
