Bottle: Dark brown, huge frothy light brown head, spotty lacing.   Strong roasted malt nose, coffee and dry cocoa are a big part of this one.   Fairly strong coffee accented flavor.   Somewhat rich, heavy roasted malt, slight semi-sweet cocoa.   More like bakers chocolate.   Soft hop bitterness, yep, pretty dry.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Soft finish of roasted malts, slight milk sugar, and a bit of coffee and bakers chocolate.   Finish drops off quickly.   Mild porter at best.   Clean, light, and certainly easy to drink for 7.4% ABV.

Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours dark brown with a foamy/creamy tan head. Aroma is much like the harsh roast malt of a brown ale, though smoother. Medium body with near creamy carbonation. Flavor is mildly spicey/evergreeny/vegy with some smooth dark roast malt. Drinks pretty well. Very well. Finish is smooth, well balanced and has noticeable bitter. Though it does turn a bit veg.

This beer struck me with an aroma of canned peas, grassy and vinagary. Taste was very different and enjoyable. It didn’t seem much different that the non-seasonal porter. Way too thin. Drunk from the bottle.

Bottle. Poured a very dark brown with a one inch fluffy beige head. Has a light chocolate and coffee aroma. Flavor is toasty and a little acidic, slightly fruity, with a lot of coffee and sweet toffee. Has a mild bitter hop bite. Probably the best I’ve had from this brewery. Much better than their regular porter, in my opinion.

Murky, hazed brown color witha moderate, tan head and some nice lace. Scents of dark chocolate and caramel, with just a bit of herbal hops in the background. Sweter start with light fruit and some toasted grains. Just a bit of balancing bitters and acidity. Perhaps a bit of black malt. Not real memorable in either the finish or linger.

Smells warm, a strong licorice note in the aroma. The smell is very inviting. It pours dark with a tan head. Tastes of caramel malt, a slight coffee-ness to it some licorice and raisin. There is a bit of an alcohol bite and a little too much bitter for my taste. A little too dry on the palate.

Nice pour. Thin head. Watery a slight natalic after taste. Okay holiday beer but like others better.

On tap at the brewpub. Intresting burnt orange with some brown. Aroma of leather and spice. A nice sweetness and yet a good balance. Nice finish. I like this.
