Commercial Description:
In the 1700's one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content perserved his ales during the long voyage to India (as depicted in our label) to quench the thirst of British troops. Today, we tip our hat to that historic innovation by brewing Colorado's hoppiest pale ale. Avery IPA demands to be poured into your favorite glass to truly appreciate the citrusy, floral bouquet and the rich, malty finish. Brewed by hopheads for hopheads!

Pours a glowing golden light brown with a small white head. Smells of big hops and grapefruit. Quite a powerful aroma for just a regular IPA. Tastes of big bitter hops, grapefruit and other citrus seem to be on the back burner. Hops are pretty much up in your face. Defintely a nice drinking session IPA. Good showing here.

Pours a clear light ho-hum gold with noticeable carbonation, with a decent head and lacing. Strong aroma of grapefruity hops. The taste ensues with strong grapefruit bitterness upfront that eases a bit as it goes down. Good aftertaste that lingers.

Pours a bit light in color. Wonderfully complex citrusy, ripe fruit aroma. Initial tangerine taste quickly followed by resiny, tingly hop wash. Mouthfeel could be more intense. Aftertaste lasts just right then fades almost entirely.

This beer should be the definition of an IPA. Mild to heavy hops, with a great balance of bitter hops to fruity/citrus hops. The malts are hidden within the hop aroma and taste. This pours an orange haze of hops. Quite a delicious beer. A very well balanced ale.

A beautiful beer with lots of carbonation and perfect head. Very hoppy aroma with lots of citrus notes. The taste is a bit heavy for an IPA, meaning it’s not light, really. It’s good. A hophead’s delight.

Pours a light golden color. Has a slight hoppy aroma. Medium bodied with a dry hoppy finish. Not as bitter or hoppy as I had hoped.

Very sessionable. Although i like a little more bitterness in my IPA (im no expert yet) but you could easily have a few of these without having your palate just destroyed like some others.

Having heard nothing about this beer prior to purchasing it, I was pleasantly surprised. It pours a deep gold with a large, dense, pillowy, off-white head that takes it’s sweet time in diminishing. The aroma is citrus, pine and flowers. The palate is medium-bodied with a bitter finish that wicks all moisture from the tongue. The flavor is sweet caramel malts up front with a strong floral, pine and citrus hop backing. This is a tasty IPA with a nice lingering finish.
