| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 14, 2009 Tasted as part of the Avery Experience at Brouwer’s. Pours the color of apple cider, with a small head. Citrus hops in the aroma, with an interesting note on the finish - almost like pear. Hugely bitter, with a great, full flavor for a single IPA. I’d pick up a sixer of this stuff any day. illidurit (1019), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 26, 2008 Saffron colored with some chill haze. Nice 2+ fingers of eggshell head. Lacing is immense, great retention.
Smell is a bit understated, with honey soaked piney hops.
Taste is also somewhat light. Malt sweetness along with some tannin-like bitterness imitates the character of honey tea. Some citrus hops are also present.
Tannic finish leads to a dryish mouthfeel. Carbonation is on the low side, which doesn’t match well with the sort of chewy body.
This is a quite tame IPA, which makes it very very drinkable. johndavidj99 (123), Township, Maine, USA

I don’t understand it but he said it refined the taste. It was very smooth and had a very pleasant fresh grapefruit hop aroma. lemasney (398), Trenton, New Jersey, USA
