Aug 4, 2008 On draft at avery brewery. A nice and good tasting ipa, not to bitter. Was 1 of the first beers i tasted at the very nice 15th celebration.

May 14, 2009 Tasted as part of the Avery Experience at Brouwer’s. Pours the color of apple cider, with a small head. Citrus hops in the aroma, with an interesting note on the finish - almost like pear. Hugely bitter, with a great, full flavor for a single IPA. I’d pick up a sixer of this stuff any day.

Jan 26, 2008 Saffron colored with some chill haze. Nice 2+ fingers of eggshell head. Lacing is immense, great retention.
Smell is a bit understated, with honey soaked piney hops.
Taste is also somewhat light. Malt sweetness along with some tannin-like bitterness imitates the character of honey tea. Some citrus hops are also present.
Tannic finish leads to a dryish mouthfeel. Carbonation is on the low side, which doesn’t match well with the sort of chewy body.
This is a quite tame IPA, which makes it very very drinkable.

Feb 25, 2008 Updated: Mar 1, 2008Avery IPA Cask - The bartender at the Flying Saucer pumped this "unfiltered" beer out of some sort of a cask. I don’t understand it but he said it refined the taste. It was very smooth and had a very pleasant fresh grapefruit hop aroma.

Jan 21, 2010 Hoppy, quite bitter and also flowery. long aftertaste. Nicely cloudy and balanced fizzyness. Recommended!
