Very dark with minimal tan head. Slight taste of cocoa and subtle alcohol aftertaste. Rich, nutty flavor stays on the palate. Very smooth. I dig.

12 oz. bottle from an English pint. Pours a dark dark black with a tall brown head. Very foamy with nice lacing. Aroma of dark fruits and a sharp hop note (very surprising). Really nice aroma overall. Taste is very complex. Has chocolate and coffee notes, along with fruits and a little bit of EtOH. Mouthfeel is very smooth, a little bit watery.

Thick, oily pour with a tan head. This one hits the mouth with a mixture of coffee and hops, with a little bit of oatmeal in there. Near the finish, this one slightly resembles an IPA. All of the flavors were very slight, so I feel like this one could have been better with a stronger taste.

On tap at Flying Saucer in San Antonio. A sweet, molasses aroma. It just smells thick! Jet black appearance with an ecru colored creamy head and super sticky lacing on the glass. Flavor is heavily coffee with a touch of molasses. It starts sweet and finishes slightly bitter. Smooth, velvety texture with minimal carbonation. An absolute winner and one of my favorites!

Poured from bottle. DAMN. Magnificent nose; espresso, toast, meaty. Color is a dark, opaque brown that gleams slightly red in a bright light. Tastes of dark roast espresso, baker’s chocolate, black tea, and a slight herbal note -- rosemary? This is a beautiful beer.

I just fell in love with this beautiful beer. The aroma is complex with dark chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, and toasted malt. As soon as you taste it you get heavy malt/bakers chocolate and after swallowed you find black licorice and coffee. This is not a beer for everyone but if you enjoy stouts this is tits! Really fun to drink and at 9 percent alcohol it’s suprisingly smooth. Will take some home with me back to germany.

Very robust, dark but not bitter, a little bit of spicyness and sweetness, but on the whole dark earthy chocolates predominate.

This brew is no joke. Super malty, silky mouthfeel, rich rich rich! A great choice, even if you can only put down one at a time.
