Commercial Description:
Dry Hopped with a load of Cascade hops grown in the Pacific Northwest. Doggie Style has enough hop character to satisfy hop-heads, but isn’t overpoweringly hoppy. It’s brilliant amber-copper color and pleasant malt flavor comes from the addition of Carastan malts.

Attractive, clear bronze appearance with a small head. Aroma has hints of citrus amid the fruits. Mediocre taste with a light-to-medium bodied mouthfeel. Finishes dry and hoppy.

(12oz bottle thanks to BA zdk9) Pours clear amber with nice oily bubbles. Nose of citrus, grapefruit, honey and mango. Taste of earth, orange, lemon and citrus oils. Medium oily body with nice bittersweet finish. This one stands out amongst the other 5 Flying Dogs I had tonight, pretty good!

Pours light copper amber with an off white head. Aroma is caramel malts and a mix of citrus and earthy hop. Flavor is a blend of light and caramel malts, with a nice citrusy flavor and slight bitter finish. Pretty good.

Deep and hazy dark orange color with a formidable head. Very very bubbly. Quite hazy, almost like a mist, but not at all cloudy. Very mild scent. Equally balanced between the hops and the malt. Aromatic hops emerge with a little agitation. There IS a slight mustiness to the hops, but it doesn’t ruin it. The smell adds some bitterness. Not sure if this was the intent of the brewer. Unusual taste. Has a yeast flavor, and the hops are strong, and I can’t quite pinpoint the flavor. It’s a combo of oak-aging and lemon Pledge; actually not bad, just weird. Has a feint blueberry finish (?!). I can’t identify it! The taste is almost that of a chemical/floor cleaner smell. YET ... it’s still okay. Medium body, but has a pleasant, lasting presence, post-swallow. Finishes nicely; smooth but not watery. It’s a good, solid beer. Better than average, just very odd.

Pours hazy amber with no head. Caramel malt nose with a hint of citrus hops. Flavor is a bit dirty and mixed. Malt and hops are both present but not well balanced and finish is not all that clean as it lingers with a ’green’ grassy flavor from the dry-hopping.

Pours an attractive deep amber...not what I expected from a pale ale. Aroma is mainly hops w/ some sweet malt. Taste is very hoppy with a bit of grass and some sweet caramel undertones. Hops definitely dominate. Palate - extra dry on the tongue. Long lingering bitter hop aftertaste. Not one of my favorite styles, but gotta say this is pretty decent. Not one I’d normally drink, but respectable.
